My 1-1 coaching work typically involves supporting you to - Cope with pressure and prevent stress - Present the best version of yourself - Be emotionally intelligent - Develop positive relationships - Cope with change and uncertainty - Maximise your potential - Develop and maintain an optimistic outlook - Maintain and encourage a resilient attitude - Develop/maintain a problem-solving outlook My business is called Stress Management Plus, and I've been involved in coaching 1-1 since 2003. I initially worked in government as a staff counsellor, with the Home Office Welfare Service, and with their help I became professionally qualified in coaching and stress management. I now have my own training and coaching business, involved in helping individuals and businesses to make the most of themselves through managing pressure and preventing stress and promoting wellbeing and resilience. I support people and companies to present the best version of themselves, to maximise performance. My work entails making the individual and by extension the organisation more resilient, especially during times of change and uncertainty, and supporting them to promote wellbeing, and identify and deal with the causes of stress at home and at work.

What do you love most about your job?

I most enjoy learning about clients, and working together with them on how to address issues; dealing with those things getting in the way of personal and professional performance and finding ways to present the best version of ourselves. That is very satisfying for me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been in this role for 15 years, and gained experience and training and qualifications with a major employer. Working for myself has enabled me to have a broader client-base, to work with and learn from individuals from different social, cultural and professional backgrounds, as well as with organisations from both the private and public sector.

Why should our clients choose you?

I will be unconditionally supportive of you. I have been involved in developing people for over 30 years, and understand the importance of listening, being non-judgmental and tapping into the resources we all have, but may have lost sight of, or access to. I will action-plan with you, and mutually agree the way forward – what you’ll be doing between sessions - and ensure that our sessions are focused and purposeful.
