An initial first meeting is always helpful, not only for me to see the space for designing but to have an informal chat with the client to determine the brief, what they would like to achieve from the design, a budget that they may have in mind and timescale for the work.
From the meeting, I then establish the design time required for the project and will forward a proposal for designer fees and what this includes.
When an agreement is reached, the design process begins. Researching, sourcing, sketches for room layouts and plans, scale drawings, acquiring fabric, wall and flooring samples and much more. As each design is unique to the individual the process varies along the way.
Design/concept boards, drawings, report of where to purchase and cost of suggested items are produced together with any samples acquired.
On presentation of the designs the client has the option of either implementing the designs themselves using the information given, or to opt for project co-ordination, where the designer oversees the whole project.
I work with all Interior Design styles. Most clients have an idea of the style they are looking for which is a good starting point, but if you’re unsure we can go through style options together.
I would say that the best part of any design is seeing the whole project come together. From the design concept, through to the completed dressed property. As well as my clients having a home they can be proud of that is unique and functional for them.
Interior Design is something I have loved for many years and after training professionally I gained experience through personal projects. Having my own design business was always something I’d aspired to achieve and so the design studio, Ellen Robinson Designs, began in 2011.
I listen to my clients to gain an understanding of what they would like to achieve from the design and their likes and dislikes. This enables me to produce bespoke designs that suit you and your family, are stylish but functional.
My working relationship with clients is to always have their best interests as priority, to be reliable and can always be contacted with any queries along the way.
The design services can initially begin online or remotely by phone, email or video call appointments. However for those who prefer not to do this I can still visit providing all guidelines are met to keep us both safe in the current situation.
There is the option of working online and remotely with the client to provide the designs required or in cases where this is not possible all precautions are taken by wearing masks, sanitising and distancing.
