What’s your interior design process?

Why use an Interior Designer?

As an interior designer & colour consultant, I often meet people who have design questions and are looking for someone to help them resolve issues within their home or work place but they don’t necessarily think that they need to, or want to, involve a design professional. As we are all doing different jobs and have different expertise, it makes sense that we can’t do or know it all. Generally, we wouldn’t hesitate to ask advice from a pharmacist, a plumber or electrician, or to engage a personal trainer to get fit, so then why is it so hard to engage the services of a design professional?

Well, for one, it is an extremely private area of our lives that we are asking someone to enter into. To invite someone into your home requires a certain amount of trust & confidence. Also, the perception is that anything to do with design or home renovations immediately means a lot of money. Of course, money will be required but how much is entirely down to you, the client, and your individual needs.

Professional Interior Design
Here are some of the reasons why people may feel nervous about utilising the services of an interior designer or think that it is a waste of money…

Too expensive
Too invasive
They will force a design I don’t want upon me
They will make my home not my own
It’s all about up-selling
They will take over and run the project
It’s just a matter of shopping, therefore, why should I pay someone to do this for me?
To reassure you, a good designer will listen to you and your requirements and will tailor-make their service to meet your particular needs. As the client, it is up to you to set the parameters. A good design professional will be there to follow your lead and will offer their expertise to help resolve your personal situation. This should prevent any negatives being experienced.

Why use and Interior Designer and Hiring an Interior Design Professional

Some of the benefits:

Utilising the expertise of a designer can help you save time & money, especially if they are engaged at the start of the project.
They can help by doing the running around, sourcing & organising.
They can help you really understand what can be achieved in your particular space.
They can help you work out your likes & dislikes & to find common ground when several people are involved.
They can guide you in the management of the project without taking over.
They can take on the project & manage it for you completely, if you feel you need that support.
They have expertise & experience that they can share to help prevent mistakes being made at the start of a project.
They can bring an element of creativity and inspiration to your project that you, your architect or builder might not have thought of.
They can help you make that difficult choice & commit to a decision.
Remember, if it were easy, then everyone would be doing it for themselves. Choosing between products, pulling together an interior decor scheme that flows, spending your hard earned savings and trying to please others can be overwhelming. Having an objective professional in your corner can help keep you on track & breathe!

Which interior design styles can you cater for?

Contemporary, Transitional, Eclectic, and we have a specialist in working on acoustic spaces for clients.

What do you love most about your job?

Founder Emile Azan, pursued his life – long love of interiors and architecture and retrained in Interior Design, graduating from KLC School of Design, where he obtained an Honours distinction. Having worked In the industry he set up the practice in 2005. It's fun and making a client love their home and when someone walks into a space feeling relaxed and enjoying it. The devil is in the dental as they say.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Being able to help and guide others to make their spaces special for them. Plus I love what I do.
