I am a massage therapist with a profile where you can contact me directly without needing to ask for a quote. Currently no massage therapist with my union is able to see clients face to face in Tier 4. Though, if you would like to leave contact details then I will get back to you as soon as we are permitted. My background is in coaching and Sports Therapy, so I assess how your body works as a whole and 'retune' it through massage, stretches, release of tension.

Cannot fault the service - thank you. I have recently had a ligament replacement procedure on my knee and decided to go to Pain Clinic's Southampton Practice through recommendation, for my knee rehabilitation. Tony showed genuine interest in the care of my knee and displayed his expertise in all variations of treatment that I received including acupuncture, scar tissue massage and manipulation. He also advised me of exercises to improve mobility and flexibility which have all proven successful. I would not go anywhere else for treatment now and I continue to have maintenance treatments at the practice. I would highly recommend Tony and the Pain Clinic without any reservations whatsoever. Thanks to everyone at Pain Clinic, reception were warming and if I relocate to London, I'll be sure to schedule my appointment at the Pain Clinic London Branch!

I went along to see Jordan at Active Motion as I had been suffering with hip and back problems for 18 months. I had seen numerous osteopaths and chiropractors in that time, as well as my GP. Within 15 minutes Jordan had pinpointed the problem and started therapy. I felt a difference immediately and combined with the follow up exercises that he sent me, I really feel this will be the turning point. The treatment room is beautiful, calm and welcoming and Jordan could not have been nicer or more professional. He followed up as promised with information for me, including exercises to compliment my treatment plan. The cost is really reasonable compared to many places as well. Thanks Jordan for your help.

My experience of So Health and Beauty has been fantastic. Sarah is very friendly & professional, and makes you feel at ease whatever treatment you are having. She takes great care over any individual needs to achieve the best possible results, and gives lots of advice on what you can do outside of the treatments.

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
