Your expert locksmith will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you advise you of the best quote to suit your needs. How do I decide on the best Locksmith for the job?

There are a number of questions that may be a good idea to ask your trusted professional.

  • Identification – Before having someone come into your house, it is a good idea to ask them to show you their basic ID.
  • Emergency services – Find out if they offer a 24-hour locksmith service. Emergency services can be a little bit more expensive than standard ones.
  • Check prices - A professional locksmith companies will normally present a fixed price, along with a variable price. This means that certain aspects, such as the amount of labour generated by the lock service, is variable. This may depend on the lock’s specification, duration of task and lock’s characteristics.
  • Locked out - If you are locked out of the house make sure the locksmith you choose offers lockout services. You might want to enquire if the local locksmith installs high-security locks. Any residential locksmith should be able to install high-security locks. Most burglars gain access to the house due to a malfunctioning lock. Your windows also need to have high-security locks because burglars take advantage of an unsecured window.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local locksmiths listed will provide you with a professional service and take care of your locks.

How long does it take for a Locksmith to open my locked door?

This depends on a range of factors. If the mechanism has failed it can take a much longer time compared to if you lost your keys and the lock was working efficiently. On average it takes a professional locksmith between 10-30 minutes to open most locked doors.

What should I look for in a Locksmith?

What do you love most about your job?

I love everything about my job, from meeting new people, to the satisfaction of a good job done and making people feel secure in their homes.
I have always been a fan of puzzles and as a locksmith I have to figure out what is wrong and how best to fix it!

What inspired you to start your own business?

Having had several jobs, from customer service to sales, and never really settling in any one role I decided that I should start my own company and do something that I enjoy. I initially had taught myself to pick locks, but decided to go on a course to get a coty and guilds qualification and gain further knowledge to help me help my customers.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am a friendly, local locksmith with the aim of providing top level service to the community at affordable prices.
When getting into the trade I was shocked to learn just how much some locksmiths will charge and that the industry has absolutely no regulations in place.
With Interlocked we are always happy to break down our costs for you so you know exactly how much you are paying, and for what.

We use only British Standard cylinders and locks, and use anti-snap cylinders as standard.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Locksmiths are experts when it comes to locks. This makes a locksmith the ideal professional to call when you’ve got a locked door that you can’t open. Whether you’ve lost your key or left it inside your property, a locksmith can open your door without causing damage and create a replacement key if needed.

You should always change the locks when you move into a new home. Although the previous owners should give you all of the keys for the property, there could be copies of the house keys that you don’t know about from previous homeowners. Changing your locks when you move into a new home will help to keep your property secure, as well as giving you peace of mind.

The best way to open a broken lock is to hire a professional locksmith. Although you may be tempted to try and open the lock yourself, you could end up damaging the lock or door permanently, increasing the costs that you’ll incur. A professional locksmith will be able to open the door and repair the lock without causing damage.
