We are primarily a family owned Security Company offering a diverse range of Locksmiths Services. We are one of Scotland's best equipped Safe Opening companies and also offer extensive Auto-Locksmith capabilities. Carl is a qualified Electrical and Mechanical Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET). In addition, he has trained and completed City and Guilds Electrical Engineering and Electronic Security Systems course including Testing, Inspection and Certification and PAT Testing. As a former Bomb Disposal Officer engaged in Counter Terrorism he is adept at problem solving which is put to good use in Locksmith work where as a company we specialise in Non-Destructive Entry (NDE) Techniques. We are one of very few companies in Scotland to be able to offer a comprehensive range of Safe Engineering Services including Opening Locked Safes and fitted a varied range of Mechanical or Electronic Locks. Despite the breadth of capabilities that we offer we do try to offer a 'no job too small' service. We are not a National Franchise, but a highly skilled service company trying to provide pragmatic security solutions for the community in Scotland and specialist Safe work across the wider UK. We are a Authorised Security Centre for the Asda Abloy Mul-T-Lock brand as well as other high quality locks. We are a reseller for Burg Wachter, Burton and Dudley Safes, in most cases offering internet/e-commerce pieces but with full service.
Helping people out. OK, I know that sounds a bit much but we really do meet all manner of people from the very 'well heeled' to the 'pour souls' in life. Everyone has a story. Meeting people and delivering customer satisfaction is really very rewarding, so too is finding a way around a problem.
After a career as a Bomb Disposal Officer spanning 22 Years Service I wanted to escape the desk that was soon to become my prison! Whilst I enjoyed Command as a Major in the Army in some respects I was also tired of the bureaucracy and the 'Yes Man' culture that I felt betrayed what it is to be Public Servant. In addition, I wanted to settle my 2 amazing daughters in one location rather than move around. So, I though 'why not use my ability technically to problem solve'? Not long after starting, it became clear that we could strive to find solutions where other companies were templated by a lack of imagination or potential profitability. Every day is a school day!! We are still learning but that's because we strive for more.
It is almost unbelievable that work as a Locksmith is not in any way a 'regulated trade'!! That means pretty much anyone can claim to be a Locksmith, from any background.
We only employ 3 people, all of whom have undertaken a level of vetting with the Disclosure Scotland. In some cases (2), the level of vetting has been far higher with Defence Vetting at CT Check, Security Cleared (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
In essence, we have the Technical Qualification but also certified and scrutinised levels of personal integrity.
Can a Locksmith open a locked door?
Locksmiths are experts when it comes to locks. This makes a locksmith the ideal professional to call when you’ve got a locked door that you can’t open. Whether you’ve lost your key or left it inside your property, a locksmith can open your door without causing damage and create a replacement key if needed.
Should I change the locks when I buy a new house?
You should always change the locks when you move into a new home. Although the previous owners should give you all of the keys for the property, there could be copies of the house keys that you don’t know about from previous homeowners. Changing your locks when you move into a new home will help to keep your property secure, as well as giving you peace of mind.
How do you open a broken lock?
The best way to open a broken lock is to hire a professional locksmith. Although you may be tempted to try and open the lock yourself, you could end up damaging the lock or door permanently, increasing the costs that you’ll incur. A professional locksmith will be able to open the door and repair the lock without causing damage.
