Residential interior designers are responsible for the layout, design, and decoration of residential building spaces. They manage interior design projects in private homes or investment property from portfolios. Most interior designers will hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Interior Design. Although a degree is usually required, there are also courses in drawing and computer-aided design (CAD).

With three full-time members of staff and one part-time administrator, I make sure all projects are handled efficiently and professionally with a personal touch. We only take on work within our man-power. Plus, we all operate on flexible working hours to ensure that this is possible, with no compromise on quality of work. Nothing brings us more job satisfaction than when clients return to us or refer new clients to us.
I offer project management services to run alongside and in the lead up to an interior design project. For example, project managing a kitchen extension before work on the decoration and interiors has begun. This is subject to availability and how busy we are, but it’s always great to be involved in a project from the very beginning. This can bring really exceptional results. It’s also helpful for clients who have busy jobs. Having one go-to person for all project queries helps to ensure efficiency, consistency and focus, so that nothing is missed.

Our home was originally 3 small cottages and we needed to make it into one coherent family home. Zuzana created us beautiful design that reflects our style so well. She took time to listen and really understand our vision and came back with the design we were after at the same time she presented us with ideas we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. To get the layout correct was our priority, we had a living room that was walk through and we didn't know how to place the furniture. The process was very collaborative and we made bolder choices that we wouldn't have done otherwise and are very happy with the result. Zuzana created perfect solutions for us and we are hoping to be able to have her back for the rest of the house!

I cannot recommend Bally, Marni and the team at BRIC more. Not only are they an absolute pleasure to work with, the standard to which our apartment was designed and finished exceeded all expectations. As international clients, there was an added challenge of not always being able to see the property or come in to discuss options. Bally and Marni were incredibly accommodating of this - calling to update and discuss options despite the limitations of time difference and sending us to-scale renderings of the flat on their amazing CGI platform. They went above and beyond to help with the move-in and I cannot thank them enough for their thoughtfulness throughout. The building we were moving into had numerous delays, which impacted BRIC’s ability to send in furniture that had been ordered. During these delays, they graciously organised storage for our items and as soon as the flat was ready, started work swiftly to ensure the quickest move-in possible. It was extremely reassuring to have a team we trusted in this scenario! Everything was finished to the highest standard - they really do have the best contacts in Edinburgh for everything interior. Overall, a faultless experience. I only wish we could continue working together!
