What makes a great website?
A website that fits its purpose to do what it needs to do in terms of being of use to a specific business or individual, cause or campaign. It needs to look unique and have the ability to have the right functionality to provide some use to its users. The site needs to look appealing and has to be informative. The website also needs to be able to have its content searched through the help of SEO technologies and the use of branded content that can be shared across social media platforms. The data used on the site also needs to conform to legal requirements of data protection for the users and the site also needs to have security features in place to safeguard against vulnerabilities when its live. The site also needs to be maintained backed up and updated regularly. on an on-going basis.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Can they provide the right information in terms of design content Images, Logo's, Text, Videos, Sounds, access to specific accounts within a Dropbox/We transfer link or via PDF or Word document format.
Describe your creative process.
Depends on the job and the product that needs to be designed or developed, we normally go over the required product and discuss what the client wants and then see if we can provide that product to match there requirements. We then do some research into developing a new concept provide some variations or just create what the client has asked for. We then tweak the design if required then finalize a product for output to be created. We normally set things up request a deposit and then the rest of the payment once completed.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Their requirements written out as well as any additional content required to complete the job, timescales required to complete the work.
What do you love most about your job?
I like to see my work out their doing its job making something unique and being able to help my clients fulfill what they needed doing on time and within budget. Each job is different so it's nice to have a bit of choice in what I design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always liked design and being able to create products from start to finish.
