If you are looking for a counsellor in Bristol, welcome!
My name is Nicola Bennett.
My approach is person-centred and humanistic. I build warm and supportive relationships with my clients, and facilitate their processes of transformation, growth and personal/professional development.
I have built up extensive experience working with a variety of clients, from teens to adults, in various settings and organisations, and presenting a wide range of issues. Thanks to my teaching background, I have a particular in-depth understanding of the education world and its pressures, as well as the issues faced by young people.
Since I started training in 2004 I have been continuously deepening my skills base and my experience in counselling. I have now been fully qualified for over 8 years, and my counselling qualifications include:
. Working with children and young people;
. Humanistic theory;
. Person-centred approaches;
. Comparative theories and approaches;
. Exploring the human development process;
. Loss and grief;
. Working with clients who’ve experienced abuse;
. Drug and alcohol misuse.
My placements include:
. Over two years with DHI (Drugs and Housing Initiative) in Bath, counselling adults;
. Over one year with Bristol Drugs Project, counselling adults;
. Nearly one year with Off The Record in Bath, counselling young people aged 11 and over;
. One year carrying out one-to-ones with students in secondary school.
Having now worked with over a hundred clients in various organisations and settings, I have set up as an independent practitioner and am available for bookings.
I am taking individual bookings for one-to-one work in the BS9 area.
I am also available for work in organisations like schools, businesses, or on behalf of councils &/or charities.
I look forward to hearing from you – get in touch.

For the past 4 months I've carried a weight on my shoulders that was threatening to bury me and I knew that something needed to change.
I made the decision to begin some counselling and contacted Nicci as I'd heard some excellent reviews of her work.
This was one of my best decisions; that weight has been lifted and I feel much more able to make further decisions as a result of Nicci's exemplary listening skills and her gentle encouragement of my own ability to view the situation in a less threatening and more positive manner.
I will not hesitate to engage Nicci's skills in the future and can highly recommend her as an excellent counsellor. More...
