The first half of my job was done well: Dan came out quickly, diagnosed why my extension was leaking, gave me an acceptable quote based on new tiles I’d chosen, then the roof was stripped and covered with new fabric and battens. It hasn’t leaked since so Dan CAN do a decent job. But then...

After repeated delays I was told the new tiles were out of stock till New Year so temporary tiling was put on in November. Dan persuaded me he needed the remainder of the money to pay his team over Xmas: as I liked and trusted him I paid - what a mug I was. The scaffolding was removed (which seemed odd) then Dan disappeared leaving me with a pile of rubbish in my front garden and a growing list of excuses as to why the job wasn’t being completed.

So I am left with a job half done, the need to find a decent roofer, temporary tiling to be removed and disposed of (additional cost to me) AND I have been swindled. I now have a small claims court judgement in my favour (which the company is refusing to pay). I would NOT recommend Yate Roofing and Building. More...
