I took up the offer of trying out a desk for a day, instead of working from home. Good desk and chair with a warm welcome and a warm room to sit in upstairs. I was the only user of the hot desks on this day but there were plenty of meeting rooms in use down the corridoor. Tea, instant coffee and capsule coffee available with some nice Bourbon and Custard cream biscuits. All cups and glasses go into a dishwasher, so I felt everything was clean and hygienic. Free parking at the Rayleigh site, which, while not yet totally finished was decorated and pleasant to use. Wifi was easy to log into and it was a relaxed and productive day. More...

Leigh Road site - Nice space for getting your head down and ploughing through some work - particularly if your office or home set ups are too distracting. The staff are friendly and helpful and the tea, coffee and biscuits are very welcome. Facilities are all clean and well maintained. Covid-wise, I feel perfectly safe. Upstairs desks have shields in front of them (no mouth-breathers behind you!) and there is plenty of hand sanitiser and washing facilities all about. Staff clean all the desks after use too, so you don't need to worry about catching something nasty. If you do, it is unlikely to be from working at space282. If you can get vaccinated, you have much less to worry about anyway. More...

Very professional and compliant with Covid regulations.
I was able to get an appointment within 48hrs.
The process of mounting my TV was explained to me thoroughly, confirming where and how high I wanted my TV to be.
The engineer (Vince) was punctual and completed the job within a few hours.

What do you love most about your job?
Working with people, making them laugh and putting them at ease as we manage the installation process and inform customers of each step to be taken. We also love seeing projects from build to completion, we often spend significant time with home owners and become advisers on aspects of smarthome technologies.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Our founder has worked within the AV and Technology sector for 30 years. After a string of bad jobs and poor treatment he setup his first AV company in the early 2000s going on to work freelance within the marine (superyacht) industry working directly with high profile individuals including Alan Sugar, Larry Ellison, Eric Clapton and other elite business leaders.

Vincent has designed and installed some of the finest home cinemas and control systems on the planet, at land and sea and has judged the CEDIA awards and consults with other AV and technology companies. Essex AV is setup for the benefit of local residents and businesses within the county of Essex to enjoy high performance AV installs at fair, honest prices. Our customer focused team all have age, experience, humor and professionalism on their side, we enjoy working with the clients we choose and they in turn enjoy the installation process.

Most of our installations are performed on-site. However we also offer system design services and often build complex AV equipment racks off-site either at our office in Leigh or storage in Rochford. We also have a team of content developers who all work remotely.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We are customer focused, this in mind all of our installers and builders wear masks, gloves, use sanitizer gel, and open nearby windows when working in customer homes. We all are double vaccinated and have had no incidents involving Covid or public health.
TV mounting
We professionally surface mount your TV to any wall using truncking and anchor bolts. We can conceal wires in any wall. No Job too small.
We also undertake professional Home Cinemas, Lighting and Home Automation and have installed high profile systems in stately homes and TV personalities.
We have over 30 years experience in this field and all staff hold a CPD1 CEDIA Professional Installer qualification.
Home Cinema & Automation
We have designed and built many dedicated home cinemas from humble 'man caves' through to high performance rooms within major homes and superyachts. Our team has all of the skills and expertise to design and build end-to-end... the whole shebang!
Lighting Systems including Lutron & Crestron
Qualified Lutron programmers, Crestron designers and suppliers of RTI and other control systems. We also regularly include colour change LED lighting integrated with Alexa/Google Home etc.
Ring Doorbell Installation
Fully install Ring Door bells with power and setup

We have designed, built, maintained and often re-built other AV companies control systems from the likes of Crestron & Lutron.
