I have been dealing with WR Ethical for a few months, to find me an over 60s mortgage and top up a small sum that could barely buy me a flat, further from my daughter and grandchildren (Bristol), than I would like to be.
As I my only income is my State Pension and a couple of modest Bonds, Paul had to work hard and has been absolutely amazing!
He kept me up to date all along and not only found me a Mortgage - and an Ethical one at that, that fits in with my principles! - but then went further and tried to double the amount I could access, with another lender.
Sadly my Wind turbine Bonds then failed and I had to reluctantly withdraw an offer I had made. Undeterred, Paul went on to find me a smaller mortgage that would accept just my state pension, to help increase my price ceiling.
Sadly, by then I had made an offer on a cheaper property, in Newport, that I could afford on just the small amount of cash I held, and so, by the time Paul came back triumphant, I was already committed.
I felt awful and offered to pay for the time he had invested and.. bless him, he was really happy for me and declined any payment!
Now THAT is what I call an Ethical Man!

What do you love most about your job?
It's a real buzz helping people into a new home. To be there and help during that exciting life event is a real privilege. Finding the 'needle in the haystack' that really means we've given someone the ideal mortgage for them is also really satisfying.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It started when walking, praying and reflecting on our place in the world and how we can most use our skills and interests to make a difference. We've always been passionate about doing the best for people and the planet, as well as having a keen interest in making property work for good. We've had enough experience in companies where people haven't been put first to know that there is a better way, and we felt called to try to do that by helping people get into the right home for them, at the lowest cost.

We've woven care for the planet and a passion to put you above ourselves into all we do. So, we'll be one of the cheapest mortgage brokers you can find, but also advise you on the ethics of different mortgage companies, and donate a decent portion of our turnover to charity.

Yes, we can do everything remotely - that's the only way we have worked during Covid-19. Phone calls, video calls and email are enough in almost every circumstance.
