We are delighted to offer our award winning 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow for weddings throughout Bedfordshire and surrounding counties. If you are outside our area, please do still contact us as we maintain a list of cars belonging to other independent owners.
This is the actual car that featured in the final episode of the 3-part BBC TV mini-series: James May's Cars of the People. The first series, originally broadcast on BBC2 HD on 10th, 17th & 24th August 2014, involved James driving the car for 3 days during filming in London, Kent and Warwickshire. James can be seen in the programme wearing the actual chauffeur's cap that belongs with the car and which will available on the day for photographs!

The Blue Car has also appeared in a Channel 5 documentary 'Rolls-Royce Dream Machines'. This cameo role was filmed with racing driver, TV presenter and all round lovely lady Vicky Butler-Henderson.
Bark only accounts for a tiny number of our bookings. Most come from recommendations, often within the same family. In one instance, we have supplied cars for 3 sisters and one cousin who were all married over a 5 year period. We have been supplying cars for weddings for the last 16 years and have completed over 95 weddings in that time. We never book more than one wedding per day.
The car is maintained to the highest standard by marque specialists and is fully insured. It has twice been awarded Most Elegant Car in Class at the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club National Concours. We offer a friendly, efficient service and look forward to playing a small part in your big day.
A FEW IDEAS TO HELP YOU CHOOSE YOUR CAR
• You may wish to consider alternatives to a white car - although they are thought by many to be 'traditional', the tradition really only dates back to the sixties. The problem is that there are so many shades of white. At best the bridal gown will be indistinct against a white car - at worst the car may make the dress look grubby! Try this experiment. Take a sheet of white paper and hold it up against various white objects around the house - especially in natural light - and you will see the problem for yourself. Even with a coloured wedding gown, a white car is considered by some to be somewhat passé. Many professional photographers advise against white cars with white dresses. Beware of wedding car companies suggesting you change photographer - who would you rather trust?
• Try to avoid booking a car without first viewing it. Although most firms are reputable, there are some companies and individuals who buy rusty wrecks and fail to maintain them correctly. We are proud of our cars and will be delighted to show them to you by appointment. We are long-standing members of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club.
• It may be worth approaching a private owner with a nice car rather than a big company where profit is the main raison d'être. We did not buy our cars for wedding hire. We offer them for weddings because we have had so many requests. Also, of course, the fee makes a small contribution towards the not inconsiderable running costs. Mainly though, we do it because we enjoy it!
• Check how many weddings the car will be used for in a day. We will not book more than one wedding, per car, per day, so we will be in no rush to leave.
• Beware of extra charges - for example, additional journeys or time for photographs. Subject to distance, traffic and your time constraints we are happy to transport the Bridesmaids and/or the Mother of the Bride, if required, at no extra charge.
• We are flexible - it is your big day and we would like to play a small part in the smooth running of the occasion. We will help in any way we can, including waiting outside with the car during the service to direct any latecomers.
• Rest assured that it will not rain on your special day. We do, however, carry large umbrellas for shade if necessary!
• Do you have a date in mind? Subject to availability, we will be happy to reserve the car for you for a period of 10 days, without payment or obligation, to enable you to book the wedding and reception venues.
• We were invited to display The Blue Car on the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club stand at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November 2015.
• Our base is in Bedford and we normally cover Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and North London.
