My name is Gavin Waterman and is beginning his journey into the world of personal training.
I have been in the leisure industry on and off for 10 years and seen many changes.
Unfortunately, working in the leisure industry isn’t what it’s cut out to be. Due to low wage occupation and competitiveness. It seems very few are in it to make a difference to people’s wellbeing. Many professionals are junior and in managerial positions and aren’t necessarily qualified for. And the majority of staff they manage are either working in leisure to support their studies or long termers who hang about abiding their time.
Customers who pay gym membership at a budget price aren’t necessarily getting a dream service. Often budget gyms are rather chaotically run with staff absences, armies are PT and sales people wondering in dream words. And standard to ill maintained equipment witch haven’t seen a duster.
When you sign a contract with a budget gym, the minimum requirements they are supposed to carry out is a health check and a hurried induction how to use the cumbersome machines.
I’ve seen most of it and feel pretty disgusted when a customer signs a contract with a budget gym and they think they had the bargain of the year.
When I’ve done inductions in the past; butterflies of rage have erupted in my stomach. The rage is not knowing! How can Personal Trainer do suitable induction when personally not knowing the background information from you?
And I must stress the minor and major summaries of paying budget gym contracts simply to damage your body.
The minor one is doing exercises incorrectly and leaves you feeling lethargic, develops poor posture and eventually leads to complications leading to serious to permanent injuries.
This behaviour must stop and this is when I come in.
Waterman’s Fitness and Personal Training Service is my own company I set up.
Thou my services are competitively prices with other Personal Trainers. I’m not in it for the money. I am in it to offer you the customer an exceptional service. The one that you cannot wait to meet up again with, and the one who you can brag to friends about.
Thou there is a catch using a Personal Trainer that you the customer should be aware before signing one. There are many Personal Trainers out there and each one specialises in similar to different fields of fitness. So picking the correct one is preferable if you want your needs met and goals achieved.
Waterman’s Fitness and Personal Training Service is a mobile Personal Training Service at present. This means you don’t have to go to the gym and act bored. So all the client needs to worry about is location. Having enough space to workout either in own home or public park. And having layers of clothing such as tracksuits and waterproofs if for some reason that cloudless sunny day turns nasty.
Each Training Session you will receive a rehydration drink such as a free bottle of Lucozade. Training with me will require you to replenish large amounts of fluid. So tell me which flavour of Lucozade you like the most.
I have an array of equipment all under 7kg, so you don’t have to worry about damaging that nice new floor which you recently had done. These come in the forms of barbells, dumbbells and medicine balls.
My speciation is movement and aligning correct posture. With my training you will learn how to incorporate chi principles such as Pilates and Thai Chi exercises using minimal equipment such as Matts, balls and pillows.

Waterman’s Fitness and Personal Training Service isn’t out to simply write torturous exercise programmes and be done with it. Personal Training is coming to terms with leading a more prosperous lifestyle. And I believe setting some homework will correct some unhealthy habits that you may well be experiencing at present. You could call it semi combined counselling service combined with fitness and nutrition.
I used this book myself and believe Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a self-assessment for Identify and tackle toxic thought patterns.
