Helen is a great dog trainer! She absolutely loves dogs and speaks their language. The group training lessons are great fun and my dog loves them and is super stimulated and engaged by them. Saffy startles easily and I never thought she would cope with 3 other dogs present but Helen put barriers up so that the dogs couldn’t see each other and it worked wonders. She came to the house for his initial training and it was obvious how much she cares about the dogs, and how easily she gets the best out of them. I've known Helen for 3 years now as my dog walker, trainer and now friend. I have a very dog aggressive boy who I can no longer physically walk, Helen has walked and trained him to help him with his anxiety and the transformation out and at home has been life changing for both of us. Helen is very trustworthy she has a key to my home as she does for all her dog walking clients, she's gone above and beyond for me whilst I've had to go into hospital for major surgery and she came to my home and looked after my animals. Helen and I bonded over our love of animals and over time she is now one of my closest friend and helped me through one of my dogs being diagnosed with cancer she did all the ground work for cd treatments and found a vet that could help us. Unfortunately, on boxing Day she took Shakira and I to the vets for Shakiras last journey. Where to start.... From the moment we met Helen we felt so much more confident that we would be able to teach and train our new puppy, Millie properly as well as our 4 year old who has a few anxiety issues especially around travelling. We haven't known where to turn in the past to get help and advice. Helen exceeded all expectations. Her knowledge is second to none. She takes so much time to explain things and she is training the humans as much as the dogs! We feel as though we learn so much from literally every session. Both our dogs adore her. She has a natural way with them and I love the way she interacts with our babies. She goes over and above in terms of service, texts out of hours, detailed follow up emails and genuinely cares - it is not just a business for her - more of a vocation. I genuinely believe everyone should have Helen in their (and their doggies) lives! Penny has just completed the Puppy Package and I could not recommend Helen enough . Penny started the course at 11 weeks which was a perfect age to begin. Helen gave Penny and I 3 skills to work on each week and followed the training up with detailed emails, attachments and videos. Helen also made regular contact between sessions to check our progress. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to walk my fur babies. Helen is so kind, compassionate and caring towards my doggies. We have just completed 1-1 puppy classes with Helen and she has given me and my partner so much confidence to train our little puppy. We have seen over the weeks with Helen how much our puppy has grown in confidence and how intelligent our baby is! Helen has always followed each session up with an email going through everything we have covered in each session. If we ever had and still have questions we know we can always text Helen! Helen has also been walking our lab now for some months and she has been fantastic with him. He was very nervous at first but Helen worked closely with him to overcome this. He waits now at the door on the days he is walked waiting for Helen. He loves her so much and I love seeing the bond they both have, it really is something special. Can not recommend Helen enough! She has been walking our princess pooch for a few months now and we are so pleased with the service. Our dog is anxious and nervous with new people in the house but it took her hardly any time to settle, she now greets Helen with a roll over for tummy tickles and jumps straight into the van to go for a walk. I work long & different shifts each week and Helen is very flexible & accomodating to ours needs which I struggled to find with other dog walkers. She always messages to let me know arrival times and we love love LOVE the photo updates from while Lunas out walking either on her own or with the rest of the doggy crew! Helen has been walking my two sausage dogs for a few months now and I cannot speak highly enough of her! Rocky has never been great in a car and we tried everything but he was super anxious, but over time with Helens help, he has overcome his anxiety! However it does mean that Helen has to put up with him riding shotgun and sticking his head out of the window😂😂 My two love walking with Helen and take up the position every day at 9.30 am by the door waiting for her to arrive. Helen came to my home and fed, watered and looked after my cats for the weekend. ...It was so nice for my cats to be able to stay at their home and not interrupt their routines by putting them in to a cattery. Lexi has been with Helen for just 1 week and we have totally noticed a difference in her, she is more sociable with other dogs and calmer when out on a walk. I used to come home from work in my lunch to feed and walk her but couldn't spend enough time with lexi but now I sit at work and don't have to worry at all. I have 2 German shepherd and they can both be a handful at times, with one being 3 years old and not accepting of new people & of dogs, the other being just a puppy who thinks he is still a little pup when he is just short of 50kilos and built like a tank. when we decided to get a dog walker I was very nervous because I didn't know how my 3yr old would cope and how the dog walker would cope with Sheba and Zeus. I met Helen a couple of times, and slowly Sheba and Zeus warmed to her, now if I say Helen is coming they jump up and down barking and are so excited!! I feel so confident with Helen walking my fur babies. And they seem so happy and content with her. I love the picture she sends me and tell me if they have been to the toilet etc, you still feel like your part of their walk but you can be at work not feeling guilty that they are at home. would highly recommend wainwright's walkies. What do you love most about your job?
It’s what I’m passionate about. Dogs are amazing creatures and I just love being around them and seeing all their different personalities. Knowing that I’m making them happy and giving them exercise, love and attention makes me happy. It’s also great knowing you’re helping the owners have peace of mind that their dogs are in good hands and enjoying themselves.
In terms of training just seeing dogs succeed and grow in confidence and build stronger bonds with their owners is what’s it’s all about. Making dogs & their owners lives better!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Before I could get my own dog I walked a ladies for her just purely out of my love for dogs as I couldn’t wait any longer! I spent 2 years walking Jake and would still walk him now with mine if he was still here today. This is when I realised I wanted to do it for as many dogs as possible and the best part is being able to take my own dog to work with me. From this I realised how much I wanted to understand dogs body language and behaviour and it snow balled from there by becoming a qualified dog trainer.
Why should our clients choose you?
They can be rest assured that my full attention and time will be dedicated to their four legged friend whenever they are with me. I have a genuine love for dogs and making them happy makes me happy. I’m very reliable and friendly and more importantly trustworthy. I offer tracked walks and my van has windows all round the sides and back and air vents/blowers in the back area too.
Dogs are trained and learn through choice, not force. This as a result builds their confidence and reduces unwanted behaviours.
Dog Walking
Group dog walks carefully selected to meet each individual dogs needs. GPS tracked walks with photos, toilet habits and any notes sent direct to your email along with the route of the walk on a map showing exactly where we’ve been.
Dog Training
Force and pressure free training using positive reinforcement based methods. Helping to build a confident and optimistic puppy/dog where life is seen from their perspective. Helping owners grow their bond and build trust and respect for one another.
