We had our ceremony performed by Elizabeth B. on Sept. 21st. and it was by far the best decision we ever made in the already crazy wedding planning ordeal. She was very professional, caring, friendly, detailed and genuinely takes an interest in bringing out your personal story and putting it all together. It was a blessing finding her and 100% recommend her to anybody looking to put everything in order pertaining to the ceremony. We used Mark for our officiant. He was amazing to work with! From the start, he took the time to meet with us and find out what we wanted in our ceremony. He had examples with to help, and we really got to customize and design our ceremony exactly the way we wanted it. Liz was everything we could have asked for and more. We still have people talking about how authentic our ceremony was, and it was all because of Liz! She was so wonderful to work with, and she met up with us a few times to get to know us and our personalities, so when it came time for the ceremony, it just felt like we had known her for years. I cannot recommend Liz Rae Wedding enough!!! Liz has exceeded all expectation and was an influential presence through the entire wedding ceremony process. It was very important for my husband and I to feel 100% accepted and comfortable with whoever married us. After looking through a few different vendors, I stumbled upon Liz's site and loved everything I saw. She is polite, nonjudgmental, silly and smart. I immediately reached out and so began the year and a half journey to write a completely customized and heartfelt wedding script. Although the ceremony was only 30 minutes, Liz and I spent countless hours meticulously editing and adjusting until it was perfect. The contract, payment and editing processes are all completed online and everything was organized and convenient. I never once felt Liz was tight for time or giving any less than her best. Not only is Liz a gifted writer, she is professional, reliable and a beautiful soul who loves love. We had the best experience working with Mark. In a bind, we had no idea what to do for an officiant, given we were not getting married in a church, weren't looking for a religious ceremony, but wanted something personal and meaningful to us. We were referred to Liz Rae weddings and Mark was open our wedding date and needless to say: Mark was perfection! We met with him prior and instantly was at ease and knew he would be the perfect officiant. He was prepared, calm and flexible and made our day really special with his ideas and quotes which were personalized to fit who we are. Linnea was our officiant and she was amazing! She wrote a personalized script for us and gave us multiple opportunities to proofread it so it would be exactly what we wanted. She took our readings and added in special messages from both to help tie everything together. She touched on unique aspects of our relationship and it was perfect. We got so many compliments from our guests on how our ceremony was so "us"! What do you love most about your job?
My favorite thing is getting to know couples personally and write about their story! I have so much fun learning about others and truly telling their relationship as it was meant to be told.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had two very close friends who were getting married but were having troubles finding LGBTQ vendors and asked for some help. I've been writing my whole life and am always comfortable in front of others. Offering celebrant services made complete sense, and it's been wonderful to have a business that is so open, regardless of gender or orientation.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are relaxed, easy going, and highly personal. We want to get to know you both -- what are you most excited about for your wedding? What do you love about each other? We ask questions about you two to help design your day rather than asking the typical questions.
