I have had a photo shoot booked for 3 pm one Sunday. When I came all the way from Bradford, I have been told that due to new restrictions, they couldn't do me a makeup.
Claiming that the information about restriction came only "this morning". But the photo session was meant to be at 3 pm, so plenty of time to ring me and let me know beforehand. Also I have done some research later and found out that the regulation restricting makeup was announced on Thursday night the previous week. I have had to cancel it and was promised a full deposit refund, which I haven't received despite it being over 3 weeks from the booking date now. I have emailed Violet a few times and tried ringing them, but it always went to voice mail. And it appears that if you are not ringing to book an appointment, they are not interested in anything you say in your voice message. Looks like they are not going to refund me at all, which means I have to make a claim against them. Although initially it was meant to be a pleasant experience, it turned into headache. The fact that they now ignore my emails and voice mails tells me that they are not only unprofessional, but also are fraud. Strongly not recommended. Beware if you pay them any deposit. If you have been promised a deposit refund, make sure you get it on the spot, because otherwise you won't' see your money back.
UPDATE: 10/08/2020
Needless to say that nobody contacted us to issue a refund and despite us leaving one more voice mail, no contact was made. Now if we don't receive a refund in the next 24 hours we are going to engage with Citizen's Advice Bureau to open a legal case against them. Absolutely shocking customer service. We are not going to leave them our money. It is a matter or principle now.

I won a free makeover , one free photo and photo shoot and omg these ladies are amazing at what they do! For someone whose confidence was very low in herself with life long conditions these ladies made me feel so glamerous and confident throughout the whole process. They knew I was nervous so they went through it with me step by step through the whole process from the make up artist showing me what she was going to do to the photography building my courage up to poses and then seeing my photos to be told how amazing the shoot went. I was even showed patience when I had to stop because of my conditions for a few minutes and even though I felt slightly embarrassed I was only encouraged and we had a giggle all the time! The photographer especially is extremely friendly, encouraging and very open minded. Very talented and friendly service and I got nothing but support from all staff members. I don't have a lot of money so after I stated such they worked out a price best suited to me for the photos I chose to keep after the free photo. And when I saw these photos I was so shocked that it was me! I totally recommend this studio and I definitely want to come back! They've changed how I see myself and I am more confident in my body and how I look compared to how I was before so thank you to everyone at Violet Studios! You're amazing! More...

I visited the studio after winning a makeover and photoshoot from an Instagram competition. I would have probably never thought to go for a photoshoot otherwise but I'm so glad I did. I had such an amazing time! The women there are so lovely and although I was extremely nervous when I got there they managed to make me feel comfortable, especially their photographer, who made the experience relaxed and fun. I would just like to say that my experience here was magical. The ladies here are lovely beautiful woman that make you feel a million dollars. I went in feeling low and nervous but they made me feel amazing, I've not done anything like this before so I didn't know what was in store when I walked through the doors but I was welcomed by warm understanding women that knew how to get the best out of me, I never knew I could look so wonderful. I won the photoshoot prize on Facebook, and had a lovely afternoon at Violet Studios. I wanted something a little bit different, and Zara's face, when I showed her the photos I'd taken in for reference, was a picture! I don't think she'd done make up like that before, but we both enjoyed it and she did a fantastic job! She and the photographer, Sam, did my hair between them, Googling pics of Mrs Lovett from Sweeny Todd for inspiration! Sam is a brilliant photographer, I love her style, and we had a good chat about dressing up too. I hope you remembered to check out Emilie Autumn on YouTube, Sam!!I came away with 3 images (one from the prize, one in lieu of the return of my deposit, and the third for an extra charge). I didn't feel pressured to buy, but I can understand how some people might, particularly as the studio do say they can't store your photos for you and you have to decide on the day. I said I'd discuss packages with my husband when I got home, fully expecting him to say don't be silly, you don't need to buy more, but he actually said if I felt I could afford the monthly payments and I really liked the images, why not get more. I rang them and was sent an appointment for this morning to go back and purchase a set of images. However, for some reason the appointment didn't make it onto Violet Studios' electronic diary, so they weren't expecting me. Holly, the manager, did come out to meet me but she must have got delayed as I had to leave before she arrived (they're in the process of moving to their new studio so the building wasn't actually open).Holly was so apologetic, and as a very generous gesture of goodwill she sent me all of my images free of charge. I won a competition with violet studio after sharing one of my stories of struggling with self confidence lately. I was a little nervous the days leading up to the shoot but when I got there I couldnt have felt anymore welcome and at ease. I was immediately offered a drink and spoken with before going to make up about how I was feeling. In make up Dee was so lovely to chat too and saying shes a talented make up artist would be an understatement. I felt I was in a safe comfortable environment, I felt stunning after make up, I wanted a 1950s make up and hair do look and she really made my vision come to life. Upon going through for the shoot i felt so supported, i got a bit hot during the shoot due to nerves as I felt I was in good company and environment to try outfits in the shoot that I dared not before, they were quite happy for me to take time to step outside amidst shoot too cool off, the manager even chatted with me about some of her personal experiences and it made me feel amazing to be able to talk to her on that level. The photographer couldnt have been better, she guided me into poses which looked incredible and even helped me sort my hair and dabbed my forehead when I was getting sweaty and my hair fell a bit flat because of it and I was worried I'll ruin the gorgeous work put into my make up before the end of the shoot! Seeing the photos at the end was incredible. The effort they put in really shows and I feel like they really brought out a different side of me.
