Me and my partner had the misfortune of taking her on as our Wedding Caterer. The second we gave her some money she stopped being good at communicating with us on suppliers and requirements for the day etc, then radio silence in the few months leading up to the wedding. Final invoice never came a month before our wedding so we did some digging and found out she never turns up to weddings (see Vegan Weddings UK)- just takes peoples money and doesn't provide the service. We cancelled and asked for a full refund as we had no faith in her providing the service. She agreed to refund.
A huge host of victims still haven't got their money back (years later), including us.

Avoid Lynn at all costs.

Lynn was due to cater our wedding last year and cancelled on us with less than 24 hours notice. Ruining our day and leaving us scrambling for an alternative .

We have yet to receive a refund of any kind, despite months of chasing for the thousands owed.

Please do not make the same mistake as us.

There our over 50 others that Lynn has either let down completely, or in some cases, provided a significantly substandard service.

AVOID! Nearly two years after our wedding we are still waiting on money Lynn Nicholson AKA Vegan Food Pimp owes us after we overpaid for catering due to having fewer guests than planned.
On our wedding day the food was cold, different to what we were promised and with missing items. Really disappointing experience.

AVIOD! Booked Lynn Nicholson AKA Vegan Food Pimp for our wedding reception in September 2022. She never turned up, neither did the food. . we called her repeatedly to ask where she was. Total radio silence. 3 days after the event Lynn finally replied to our emails and messaged with a self centered sob story that barely took the distress and loss she'd inflicted on us into account. We demanded a refund... we are still waiting. We are now taking her to small claims court. DO NOT USE. More...

23 hours until our wedding and Lynn cancelled!

We had booked Lynn in July 2021 ready for our wedding in August 2022. We loved the sample menu and paid the deposit to secure the date. We agreed the second instalment were to be paid after having a taste test. We talked about having this in the autumn but nothing was confirmed. All was fine and very excited.

In September 2021 I received an email saying we were late paying the second instalment. I replied apologising but explained that we had agreed to pay the second instalment only after tasting. Lynn’s next email suggested that we were wrong for wanting a taste test as “no one has never not enjoyed my food”. As we wouldn’t pay any more money, she swiftly got something booked in the calendar a few weeks later. Within her email, Lynn suggested that the quote provided would change if we didn’t pay “as with everything increasing so fast we want to be sure we can stick to all our original quotes”. We felt slightly nervous at this point.

The taste test went well and the second instalment was paid. My nerves eased. I tried to contact Lynn a few weeks later to confirm menu items or at least go through elements of the menu but she was extremely resistant to share her number with us. I only had her email, which she rarely replied to. The constant "out of office" with no return date was the most response I ever received. Nerves started to kick in again.

In March/April 2022 my new husband and I found out we were needing to relocate. As we were going to have the wedding in our garden, we would now need to look for an alternative venue. Our new venue was only 13 minutes extra for Lynn. Our hairdresser, makeup artist, photographer etc all came back within 24 hours to confirm they would be happy to change the venue and continue to be a part of our day. Yet it took daily emails over the course of a month for Lynn to confirm the change of venue. Lynn came back to express this would have high extra costs and she “I am having to redo all the bookings for this”. Lynn had never said that she needed to book anything in addition, only the food so we are unsure what those extra bookings were. We had provided Lynn with a kitchen at the original and second venue.

I emailed Lynn with our wedding venue cc’d in to discuss the kitchen we had hired Lynn and asked if Lynn needed anything else. Lynn finally came back to us confirming the change of venue, Lynn confirmed there would be no extra costs. I had hoped the communication would improve as our wedding date was getting closer, however I was mistaken. Our wedding venue tried to contact her once I finally got her number and we arranged several calls before Lynn actually attended a meeting. She would always have an excuse minutes before and not turn up.

Days before the wedding we still didn't have a complete idea of the menu only a basic idea of what will be served based on the sample menu right at the beginning of the process. I tried to contact Lynn for updates but as you can guess, very little response.

At 4pm on Saturday 27th August I received a phone call from our wedding venue to say Lynn had a medical emergency and therefore will not be at our wedding. Our wedding was on Sunday 28th at 3pm. With only 23 hours' notice and not even a phone call to me (the client) it was left up to our venue to tell me the news.

The phone came from a mysterious lady who was Lynn's friend claiming “I can't leave my name I am just doing a good deed” a suddenly hanging up. My wedding venue and I tried to call Lynn from several different phone numbers to get hold of her or her friend but there was no answer.

Questions that came to my head during this time:
1. What was the plan of action when something goes wrong? She said the preparation would have been done the day before, if this was true why couldn't one of her team (she had a whole team which we paid for) drop off the food? It could then be finished by either her team or the venue's staff. After talking with Lynn, we find out none of the preparation had even been started, she was in Devon- already suggesting she had no intention of turning up to our wedding.

2. How did the friend know who to call? The communication was always through our wedding coordinator not the venue itself so how did they find the number?

3. Why didn't she contact the client, me?
I strongly believe Lynn didn't want to contact me as I had already expressed concerns about the lack of communication. Let’s be honest, who would want to tell the bride 23 hours pre her wedding to say nearly 100 people won't be having food?!

Luckily, I had explained to our wedding venue we should prepare for this scenario as the anxiety I had felt over the months made me feel like something like this could happen. Regardless of the enormous stress Lynn has put us through for months, I was certainly not going to let her ruin our day. My venue put in place an emergency plan and saved the day with an incredible wedding breakfast.

Three days post the mysterious call, Lynn replied to my messages explaining she was at home and would like to be left alone as advised by doctors. We have sympathised with Lynn and hoped she has a quick recovery but would like our refund as we had to pay the wedding venue for the wedding breakfast we had. We want to leave Lynn in peace but we also had to fork out two wedding breakfasts.

Lynn has not even acknowledged what upset she has caused - not even a sorry. I understand something may have happened to Lynn yet due to other reviews and the 12 months of pure anxiety, I find it hard to believe her. Lynn says in a recent email that she hasn’t caused any problems, zero distress on us and that we are “kicking her when she is down”. This is completely outrageous. We have wished her a quick recovery and would like to stop communicating with Lynn but only once we have had a full refund. She gives no sympathy and thinks she has done no wrong. As detailed above, we have found out she was in Devon at the time of her medical emergency – 200 miles away (4-hour journey) on the day she should have been preparing our food.

During this time, we have taken legal advice and found we could claim a full refund alongside commercial interest charged at 8% for the length of time the monies have been held (plus interest until Lynn has refunded us). In addition to this, we have been advised to sue for the considerable emotional distress caused. We haven’t contacted Lynn in the past week, as she wished, hoping this time would allow her to refund us, yet this hasn’t worked either. Lynn has requested an extension on our court claim. This means Lynn must respond by 10th October 2022 instead of 26th September. If the funds haven’t been returned by this new date, we will be actioning a court hearing. We would like to try to prevent something like this happen to anyone else. We are going to Report Vegan Food Pimp to the trading standards.

Excellent food and company; enjoyed many of their dishes during the week and a Sunday Roast today. The quality of the food is exceptional, tasty, and presented with great care.

Finished with a Vegan Choclate Brownie and Ice Cream - so good... Not had ice cream in years, and this was a delight...

Best of all, no animals injured, so have that warm feel good factor.

We live in France and dining out for vegans is difficult at best, feeling like we've had a great vegan meal is even more unlikely.

So we were looking forward to our Sunday Roast at the Marlborough and it didn't disappoint. Big, delicious and served with a smile. All the taste and memories of the best Sunday Roasts - but with a clear conscience.

Great food, great venue, don't miss it.

Thank you so much, we'll be back :)

I cannot speak highly enough of Lynn and her team. The food was utterly delicious, loved by vegans and non-vegans alike.

It was a wedding buffet Lynn did for us. A huge variety of hot and cold dishes, as listed below:

Curry - Made with red lentils, fresh vegetables, it was spicy without being over-powering, and everyone loves curry!
Mushroom Stroganoff - Made with a medley of mushrooms, red wine and vegetables - dark and delicious.
Tagine - Spicy, colourful and rich without being over-rich.
All served with a choice of Rice, Couscous, Salad Bowls, Breads / Wraps etc

And as well as that we had a Cold Section of trays of filled rolls which included: Cheese & Tomato, Egg Mayo, Pastrami Mustard & Pickles, plus Trays of Spanish Tortilla with Garlic Mayo, Bowls of potato salad, Bowls of coleslaw, Bowls of hummus with vegetable dips, and Olives

Lynn turned up at the function room in plenty of time and sorted everything out. She liaised very professionally with the pub staff. And took care that everything was cleared away afterwards.

Pricewise, it was very reasonable. Definitely worth every penny.

Finally got around to visiting Vegan Food Pimp at the Marlborough pub in Brighton. It is a nice rustic country pub feel place
I went in for sunday roast
Mushroom & Leek Cheezy Wrap
Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
Steamed cabbage
Carrots roasted in fresh orange juice
Mange Tout
Thick delicious gravy
Orange chocolate cake with chocolate sauce
Food was really good, Nothing was over cooked, all nice, fresh and tasty. There were plently of roast potatoes which is always a plus in my book. Staff were friendly, will go again. I booked in advance expecting it to be very busy but was actually quiet in there. I don't think it has been discovered by that many people yet. Also although it is easy to get to on bus etc it is a little tucked away being close to main roads but not actually on a main road. I liked that because I am a natural hermit type person and find noisy busy environments a challenge. This place is great, I recommend it. Good location very easy walking distance from Royal Pavillion and Gardens as well as Palace Peer and seafront if fancy a stroll after eating. A good place to get away to and chill out after shopping in the lanes. Walking distance from Brighton station and very close to several bus routes.
