I did the first part of the beginners course with Nick Maistone. I originally hadn't booked the 2nd part as I wasn't sure how I would get on with it but it was an absolutely fantastic course. I learnt far more than I expected to and Nick is a brilliant tutor, keeping the course light hearted and fun and his teaching approach was very clear. Yesterday I completed the second day of the beginners photography course with Nick and a lovely small group of people (5 of us). Both days were very informative and I've learnt a lot about how to use my camera properly (no more auto mode)! The course is very relaxed and Nick is happy to explain again and again if needed. I have just completed the 2 day beginner photography course, and have to say it was amazing!! I didn't realise it was possible for me to learn so much information and be able to apply the skills to my own photos in only 2 days. Nick was friendly and easily approachable, he didn't mind having to explain things a couple of times if we didn't understand. I did a 2 day course with Nick in Maistone. Nick is a great tutor in spite of us asking a million questions. I did not have a camera and was able to borrow Nick's which allowed me to learn what I needed to look for when purchasing my camera. We had a great second day out at Rochester in the castle and cathedral which tested our learning the day before and allowed us to use our new skills with confidence. The beginners course was excellent. Nick was brilliant at explaining things without overloading us with complicated theories and jargon and the balance of theory and practice was spot on. I feel more confident about using my camera and it's given me a great basis to progress from. I completed a 2 day course in St. Albans with Nick and four other students last weekend. I now feel confident using my camera and have spent this weekend practising and am delighted with the results. Just attended module 1, a really excellent introductory course. I've come away with an understanding of the semi-automatic modes on my camera, which I had never ventured into; and having had the chance to put theory into practice during the course I now feel confident about choosing modes and settings myself. Nick has transformed the way I will use my camera, for which I am hugely grateful. If you are clinging to fully automatic like I was, you must take this course! I was fortunate to attend the 2 day introductory course, which was absolutely brilliant. The first day was really useful as we were taught how to get to grips with our cameras and understand how to get the best from them and the 'technical' side of things. The second day we went out and about in Rochester trying out what we had learnt. Nick, our instructor, was really hands on, encouraging and keen to help the group improve their skills. He was really good to help everyone and make sure he explained things in a way that everyone was able to understand, given the mixed skill level. We were also provides with literature to take away that is easy to read and not full of jargon or too much information. Nick has given me the confidence I was looking for and a thirst to keep taking photos and keep learning. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get into photography. I had been doing photography in my spare time for about 8 years, recently decided to take it up as a profession, came across Unshaken Photography, liked what I read and chose the one years mentoring course. Very good tuition, access to model shoots - no more than 4 photographers at a time and good guidance given throughout. I'm abut halfway through course, and due to this, have been able to secure a great job as a cruise ships photographer starting this month. I attended the first module of Beginners Course yesterday and module 2 today. Nick trained on both days and his teaching style is relaxed, amusing and very informative. I now feel confident to throw away the many 'teach yourself' books I have bought and finally feel that I have a good understanding of both my camera and composition. Just been on intro to photography, like most had a camera and pushed buttons at random and could take an ok photo. Had my 1st day of 3 with Unshaken Photography yesterday. I learned so much!!! The mosy important thing i leaned was that Photography is not as difficult as you think.
