I trained with this club but unfortunately left due to personal reasons and can honestly say it’s the real deal. All the hard work and instructions paid of when someone attempted to mug me. Definitely recommend in these difficult times More...

I trained here for several months and the students are very friendly. The instructor himself however is too friendly to the point I had no choice but to leave. I left 2 and a half years ago and I am still being harassed by Marc. Text messages (from different phones as I keep blocking him), emails, small gifts being sent to me through the post (my address was given in confidentiality as a student). I have made repeated requests to Marc to leave me alone but feel I have no choice now other than to report this matter to the police. Be warned!!! More...

I’ve taken the adult classes and my little boy has just started is child classes. As always Marc is engaging and fun aswell as concise and clear when instructing the class. My little boy was made to feel very welcome and took to Marc straight away Classes are very well priced and fair and you get your money’s worth As for the adult classes there great I would recommend them to any adult young or old. There’s a great family aspect to the classes and social evenings for the class are often organised. In all I can say ultra classes and Marc are simply the best X More...

Definitely prepares you for real world events, in order to get home safe rather than like martial arts where the object is accuracy with certain strikes. Expert guidance, for all fitness levels and you start from the extreme basics and work you way up, so if you have no fighting experience when you first join, it doesn’t matter. More...

My experience with the club has only been for one training session (so far), but in that time I can say, that I felt very welcomed, learnt a lot, and met a very friendly group of like-minded people! The chief instructor, Marc, is encouraging, friendly and really knows his stuff! It's a straight to the point, no nonsense, practical system that focuses on real world situations. Wether you're new to this sort of thing or have practiced other styles before, I encourage you to give it a go; it will not disappoint (I really can't stress that enough). Excellent fun! More...

, I have now been training Krav Maga for 9 years, and am still enjoying it as much as I did when I first started, the techniques are evolving all the time, so it always keeps your mind and body alert, I am also proud to say that I am now the instructor for the Beaconsfield class, which is a beginners class, and we cater for all ages. Male and female. It is great for not only keeping fit but making friends too. Other classes are High Wycombe, Marlow , Henley, also for beginners and the the more advanced too . Taken by Andy, High Wycombe, and the chief instructor and founder Marc Smith at Henley and Marlow . More...

My daughter enrolled for the Sunday morning 'Kids Krav' and loved it. Great for her confidence. Hearing her rave about it, persuaded me to join the adult classes. The classes are fun, interesting with 1st-class instructors and a great, friendly, club atmosphere. Absolutely anyone is made to feel welcome. For self-defence and keep-fit, it's fantastic and way more interesting than going to a gym. More...

Joined Ultra after looking around at other Krav Maga classes and after reading the reviews for Marlow location decided to do my free trial. What i noticed straight away was how friendly and welcomng everyone was and the different types of people that were present. I have to admit about having some reservations before joining as alwsy found it hard to attend somewhere alone but after 10 minutes I felt I had been attending for ages. The instructor was so passionate and knowledgable too the hour flew by and I signed up immediately - I could wait for the next class and what was amazing was the fact i could attend every weekly location (4 classes a week) for the same price was great. I have been training for 2 years now and feel more confident when out and about, fitter than ever before and most importantly part of a community. If you are looking for a self-defence class look no further than Ultra. More...

I was looking for something exciting and fun to do fitness wise and that's what I found when I started having Krav Maga lessons a month ago. After my first session, I knew that this was something I wanted to continue, and my instructor Marc was encouraging and helpful as I started training. The other students were so friendly and kind and I felt immediately at ease and welcomed. I would highly recommend having lessons at Ultra with Marc and his team; it not only strengthens your body and mind but you feel part of a family. More...

I recently joined the Ultras and have only the highest praise. Expert training by Marc, the lead instructor, and by his team. Friendly atmosphere and use of humour, but very purposeful approach to training. Varied membership, male, female, of all ages who are welcoming and supportive. I’d recommend Ultra Krav Maga to anyone wanting to learn in a professional environment, get some physical exercise and enjoy the experience. More...

I initially signed my 8 year old daughter up for the kids classes but after watching her for a few sessions I realised how useful the techniques she was being taught were, how well Marc was teaching her and most importantly how much she and the other kids we enjoying the classes. I decided to join the adult classes and was instantly made to feel welcome by the instructors and other Ultras. Everyone in the club is friendly and keen to help each other perfect the techniques. Marc is a superb instructor, with a genuine passion for making his students learn how to protect themselves. The techniques I have learnt so far have been excellent. More...

I joined Ultra about two months ago & I love it. It can be hard work, but is so rewarding. The focus is on learning to deal with exactly the violent situations in which you, Joe/Jane Public, would be most likely to find yourself & in a way that, realistically, you could actually make work for you even when you are stressed out of your mind. Marc brings tremendous passion & dedication not only to teaching Krav Maga, but also to making Ultra much more than "just" a Krav Maga school. When you join Ultra, you join a family & everyone, instructors & students, is friendly, welcoming & encouraging. Time & again I have found that the members of Ultra will bend over backwards to help each other out, whether it's something to do with the club or more generally. The instructors are very safety conscious & will highlight techniques, or parts of techniques, which are potentially dangerous & ensure that you perform them slowly, gently & carefully. That being said, Krav Maga isn't about learning Forms or Kata - right from the outset you will be striking pads & performing techniques with a partner. If you don't wear MMA gloves, expect some bruised &/or skinned knuckles, at least until you have developed your technique & conditioned your hands a little. And you will sometimes come away with a bruised arm if you don't wear an arm protector. Don't let the occasional bump & bruise put you off - they are the product of realistic & hard training. If it really bothers you, just get yourself the arm protectors & MMA gloves, both inexpensive & readily available on Amazon. Marc or one of the Ultras will even give you a link if you ask & there's no macho culture amongst the Ultras, so you won't be looked down upon for wearing them. Joining Ultra Krav Maga was something of a step outside my comfort-zone, but it has turned out to be the best decision I've made in some time. In it I have found an activity that I thoroughly enjoy, which has increased my fitness, which is teaching me skills that could potentially protect my life & which has introduced me to a social circle of warm, friendly people amongst whose number I am proud to include myself. I trained with Marc and Ultra Krav Maga for almost two years before I went to uni. The club has a warming and friendly aura and members are always willing to help each-other out in and outside of training. The club is in many respects a wonderful community. Marc is a dedicated instructor who takes a confident approach to training techniques and is always ready to help someone out if they are unsure about what they are doing, or, what exactly a training exercise is for. Sadly there isn't a six star rating option, if you are interesting in learning self-defence it doesn't matter if you've done anything before, krav makes for an amazing physical and mental learning experience. I started Ultra Krav Maga last November with my 16 year old son, he really wanted me to join with him so I went along not really knowing quite what to expect. I'm so thrilled he did as I absolutely loved it straight from the beginning and go to two classes weekly, its an amazing club to be part of and everyone is so welcoming and supportive, our instructor Marc is very passionate about his training and very dedicated so each class is different, we learn different self defence techniques which are highly effective in any attack situation, after learning them now for a few months I've realised how important is for men, women and children to learn, especially in this day and age where knife attacks etc. are common. I feel much more relaxed with my son being out with his friends knowing he has knowledge of self defence. Apart from the serious side of the training the classes are also always fun and I haven't been to a class yet I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend Marc as an instructor and also Andrew who trains the Beaconsfield class on a Friday - THFH More...

I feel very lucky to have found Ultra Krav Maga. I had looked for a long time for some sort of self-defence training and absolutely nothing else measured up. At Ultra we learn skills to cope with every form of threat and attack in real-life situations. Although we train realistically, Marc ensures we also train safely and with conviction. As a female, it’s very reassuring to find that the techniques are effective against even the tallest and biggest-built male members of the class. More and more females are joining Ultra and it’s great to see new members quickly grow both in confidence and ability. Everyone is made to feel welcome and included and Marc ensures we leave each class knowing we’ve trained to the best of our ability. I highly recommend Marc and Ultra Krav Maga to anyone, male or female and their children, who are serious about learning self-defence. More...

Tried a taster session in November last year and although I was sceptical after watching some videos online, Marc is a very enthusiastic and passionate instructor.
Everyone at the club is friendly and helpful and from your first visit you feel like part of the club.
Every week you learn self defence aimed at real world problems that you may encounter, although you hopefully never will.
Krav maga is a great self defence system and ultra is a great club to learn in.

UPDATE:
Last year I damaged my shoulder badly, but the ultra family still make me welcome and still involve me with all the clubs events.

Recently I was in a situation where I was being physically threatened by a very angry and aggressive man, but due to what I have been taught by Marc and the courage to believe in my ability to defend myself now, I managed to stay perfectly calm and not have any fear during the confrontation which lasted for about 30 mins. Needless to say 2 years ago before Ultra krav maga I would not be in the same position as I am now.
A big thank you to Marc and the ultra school of Krav Maga, it really can change your life.

Decided to wait a while before posting a review. So I have been training now for 5 weeks, I had heard of Krav Maga but was not sure what it was. I have done various martial arts before and for some reason only stuck the for a few weeks. I attended my first session and left buzzing and high on the work out. Krav is not steeped in rituals it is a no nonsense self defence system with an instructor Marc, who knows his stuff and has great passion for what he does. I train twice a week and totally love Krav and my new family. If you are looking for something that can be used in the real world with good instruction and great people, look no further. More...

I recently had my two year Krav-niversary with Ultra and I love it as much as the day I started. We are a friendly, mixed gender, age and ability club, where everyone has something to teach as well as to learn under the watchful eye of our Instructor, Marc Smith. I joined two years ago to learn how to defend myself in a world that sometimes seems very dangerous. I stayed because I learn something new every session, alongside strangers that have become my friends. Try it! You just might love it too. More...
