Stayed for a staff night out beautiful room great breakfast amazing staff highly recommended
Lovely afternoon tea. highly recommended
The room was well kept, my partner myself and our baby really enjoyed the stay we had. Lovely, helpful, enthusiastic, kind, caring and attentive staff. We originally booked for two night and extended our stay for a further two nights. Are thoughts as soon as we entered oh posh which it is but although it’s posh the staff are so lovely and cater to your needs with a lovely calm caring attitude. We are very please with the outcome of our stay and will definitely be using this hotel again. It’s bang in the centre of all the shops and pleanty of activists to do around the area. Very pleased. We finally found the pub after driving past car park using sat nav about 4 times . The car park is on the road alongside the river, it is painted in cream and red and has sign to say Rose and crown carpark , it has a big archway Over a. .. this is the carpark at the back of hotel area. |We checked in, only to be told that the chef was on holiday and we weren’t able to get the 4 course meal we had booked and paid for through secret escapes. The receptionist was very apologetic and sent up a full size bottle of Prosecco rather than mini one as in our booking deal. But it meant we then had to find alternative food for evening.|The room was amazing, it was old with uneven floorboards and bare walls, just spectacular. The bed was huge with sofa at end of bed, a dressing table and a writing table. The bathroom was much more up to date with large shower and free standing bath, lovely beams on ceiling, good quality towels and complimentary bath gels, shampoo and body lotion. |Breakfast the next morning was from 8-10am. It was very quiet and you order your cooked breakfast with waitress. I asked if there was a vegetarian option but she said I could order anything I wanted from cooked menu, so I had mushrooms, tomatoes, hash brown, baked beans and an egg ... hubby had full English.|We had late check out but the housekeeper knocked on door about 10:45 and asked if we were checking out that day because she wanted to clean. The staff didn’t seem to have been told what our booking included.. like late check out and breakfast... not to mention 4 course dinner . I loved the hotel for its quirkiness but I’m not sure I would re visit Wisbech. More...

We had a most pleasant afternoon tea in the lounge. Delicious and fresh cakes and sandwiches, pleasent atmosphere and excellent serviced. Thanks a lot. Highly recommended.
Food was good but not suitable for disabled lots of stairs no lift.
Nice Hotel very interesting very old it’s stairs are wonky so not for someone not to good on their feet very friendly nice food everything fresh even down to mint sauce for lamb which I was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t told no mint sauce had been made that day when I ordered my dinner so had to go without only other complaint would be we opened our window as can’t sleep with window closed and couldn’t shut it again in the morning had to leave left wide open
Nice quiet friendly atmosphere the staff nice helpful and friendly great job
Really love this hotel. It's like a large crooked house due to parts of it being over 400 years old. Crooked stairs, sloping floors. It's really quirky and we love it. It's a shame it's in the centre of Wisbech so you will see and hear noisy locals! However, the breakfast is good and the staff are all lovely. Bed is comfortable and shower is good. Big white fluffy towels too. We had a wonderful meal one evening in their pretty restaurant and Mario was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely return. More...
Nice place for a drink and food thank you cat for the good hospitality will definitely return nice bunch of people can’t ask for a better pub as I’m not from the area was well welcomed thank you so much.
Good food. Nice atmosphere of a 'local' pub.
Good food, reasonable prices
We cannot thank Mario and James enough for such a welcoming and pleasant experience, very kind and helpful and also a great laugh. Me and my girlfriend often have little get aways but this one we both agreed has been an all round great stay. The beds are really comfortable, our room was cleaned and refreshed upon returning from a day out, which brings me to my next point of how well situated the hotel is to nearby places to visit, it's out of the way but not too far from nice places to go and see. We are from Brighton and this was worth the 3 hour drive up here. ||Again many thanks to Mario and James ||- Mac & Rachael x More...

Pleasant surroundings lovely lunch.
I thought it was a great place to be, but my partner at the time thought dufferent
Location is lovely. The hotel is a very old building and looks lovely inside and outside. The room was nice and clean. Very quiet. Breakfast was not to our taste, as there was not very much to pick from. More...
Location of the hotel and room price was the first attraction to book double room in this hotel. Can't fault the service. Room was big and had plenty of space . Large double bed was so comfortable I slept like a child. Freshly cooked English breakfast included in the room cost was superb. This place is great for group stay or a casual date. RECOMMENDED. I wandered in with my girlfriend on Thursday evening for a drink. We were greeted by friendly staff and felt hungry by the incredible aroma in the restaurant. From presentation to taste and texture of the freshly cooked Lamb Shank was lovely. Loved the classic atmosphere and their service was faultless. Will definitely be returning for more. More...
Very welcoming, very comfortable and a good meal. Also somewhere under cover to park an MG!
Booked the rose and crown for afternoon tea for a 65th Birthday Party for 25 people, we were very happy with everything the staff were very attentive and anything we asked for they were happy to supply, tea and coffee flowing all afternoon, the Sandwiches and cake were delicious and any leftovers were bagged up and taken home. Very good value for money.
Nie zwiedzałam całego Hotelu.Bylam tylko na przyjęciu urodzinowym.Niewiele mogę powiedzieć o tym Hotelu.
We came all the way from London using a Secret Escape deal. Staff were very friendly, with a warm welcome at check-in: Louise and Brittany in particularly and a mini little bottle of vino Spumante was in the room. Dinner was lovely, unfortunately my cold didn't let me taste the food. We had salmon on the first day and it was gorgeous, perfectly cooked and generous portions. Starters and deserts were excellent too in a lovely old restaurant.|Lounge area dating back to 1435 very pleasant. We enjoyed a couple more drinks there in a nice relaxing atmosphere.|The morning breakfast was also really nice and hot ; all perfectly cooked and fresh.||Our room was clean, tidy and nice - it lived up to the price paid and had all we needed. Shower was pleasant but less powerful but still good.||We found the bed particularly comfortable, but that's arguably a personal preference; different people like different mattresses.||We would have preferred curtains to the blinds, but they were OK.||We were woken by noise a couple of times - our room backed on to storage cupboards which the staff must have been using early in the morning. |Definitely we can recommend this little diamond if you wish to escape from a busy City like London. Nice place to sit, chat and drink coffee. Attentive chatty staff. Shame they don't do breskfasts
The whole place is kept in Victorian style. Maybe it is not the most luxurious place to stay, but the climate is one of the kind.
Little disappointed as Sunday breakfast should have been 0800 and they were still laying tables and bringing the food out at 0825 no sorry, the man in the evening was lovely being as they are very short staff, a shame as a lovely looking hotel and nice people but all run of there feet , it a force economy not have enough staff, as it lets down the hotel as not run very well
Five of us went for Lunch during annual Rose fair parade. We were seated in the front lobby overlooking Market square with vantage viewing point for parade. We were served delightful lunch by lovely waitress with efficiency . Kudos! Had great time there. Our thanks to the Manager who offered us the best table. More...
We, group of friends went for lunch at this hotel. We were surprised that it was open to non- residents as well. It was packed inside because of Rose fair. Staff were rushed off their feet, still can't fault the service provided by the staff. Food was wonderful too, very pleasing and fulfilling day. More...

Very pleased with our stay. Requested early check-in, I mean 10am arrival. We were greeted by friendly receptionist, who not only checked us in early with a smile but also upgraded due to our booked room not being ready. The room was spacious and well equipped with all necessary essentials. Young staff at breakfast was fast & efficient in serving delicious English breakfast. Enjoyed our stay and will recommend. After searching for a nice restaurant in Wisbech, noticed mixed reviews for this hotel and decided to try. Went to have dinner with my lifelong partner to celebrate our first meeting, so were delighted to notice nice and quite ambience with character. Service was impeccable, food fantastic. Steak which I ordered medium rare was fabulous that I ate wholesomely, so was lamb shank my partner ordered.Welcomed by a happy looking, chatty, smiling girl and served us as though we were her BFF. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be visiting again very soon!! More...

Good central location. Really helpful reception and bar staff. Good room facilities. The mushroom and beetroot burger (not on the menu) was delicious. Pleasant place and good food
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Rose and Crown Hotel, Wisbech. There was a warm welcome at the start of our stay, our room was good, comfortable and adequate for the one night we had booked. Food was good, well cooked and plentiful. Lots of history about the hotel. All in all a very pleasant stay. More...
Went to the Rose and Crown under Secret Escapes for a 1 night stay. We had a nice room with a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Nice bathroom with a big shower but unfortunately it wasn't very powerful at all. The tea tray wasn't overly stocked as only had a couple of teabags and plastic spoons! We had an evening meal at the hotel which was fantastic, so tasty and well cooked. The homemade honeycomb cheesecake was absolutely delicious and compliments to the chef! The breakfast wasn't quite up to the same standard but was ok. Didn't really like the area of Wisbech that the hotel was in although had a few shops to look round and a Wetherspoon pub if you wanted a cheap meal and drinks! More...

We were looking for somewhere to eat and were struggling until we wandered into the Rose & Crown Hotel. ||Great greeting from Mario who was extremely helpful. ||Bar staff great. ||Chef is a magician with food here, what an absolutely delicious meal, with a starter of deep fried Camembert which was devine. ||We followed this with Chicken Tikka Masala - WOW! The chef checked we were not allergic to some of the ingredients and advised that all dishes were freshly made - he wasn’t kidding. Fresh tasty ingredients and what a flavour the whole dish had. ||If you want somewhere with the individual touch and absolutely delicious look no further than here. ||Thank you to the team for making our visit a lovely and delicious one - we will be back. ||Keep up the good work!!
