Lisa & Lynn at the Rhubarb Kitchen were an absolute pleasure to work with! We met them for a tasting and were so impressed with their range of Canapés in flavour and presentation. They were so thoughtful in putting together a plan for my wedding and so professional on the day - guests have told me that the Indian grazing table they put together was a real highlight from the wedding. The Rhubarb Kitchen (RK) recently catered two fantastic meals for my family and friends.
We had travelled over from Canada and USA to spend a week’s holiday in Darley Dale to celebrate my 70th birthday. We are ex-pats and I chose this area because it holds so much family history and happy memories.
This was no easy task, pleasing everyone ranging from 2 – 82 years old including food preferences and a few dietary restrictions. It seemed overwhelming. Many were making great efforts and travelling internationally to be in attendance.
From my initial contact with RK, I knew that I was on to a winner here. RK listened to my vision and understood the importance (to me) of making everyone happy.
The RK team took care of everything seamlessly. They guided me through menu selections which were all a hit. RK were professional and thorough during the planning process and you can tell this professionalism carries through to the way they run their team. They are pros at event planning and execution. Their onsite chefs and servers were so personable, friendly and helpful and they left our beautiful Georgian vacation rental spotless.
The food was outstanding. The beef tenderloin and salmon were done to perfection, The sides and deserts were all delicious.
In addition to my birthday feast we also had a roast Sunday lunch. Due to kitchen oven limitations an alternate way of cooking the meat was recommended. At first I was a little wary but it came up trumps and was rated second only to the “best cheesecake ever” served as one of the deserts of the day.
Great food, great company, professional service in a beautiful English countryside setting – does not get any better than this.
Kudos and huge thanks to Lisa, Lynn and their team, for their contributions to such an important, memorable time.

We wanted a special family lunch for a landmark birthday and Rhubarb Kitchen exceeded all our expectations! They gave us time to talk over what food we enjoy and came up with an outstanding celebratory meal which was just perfect!

Wow! The Rhubarb Kitchen team catered at a hen do on Saturday for us. Lisa was super responsive and helpful during the booking process, and her team on the evening itself were so friendly and lovely! The food was superb, the portions were so generous, and it was lovely to have an extremely relaxing meal where we didn’t even need to leave the house we were staying in for the weekend! Rhubarb Kitchen executed our Corporate Leadership Team event so perfectly. They listened to our vision, were highly organized and effectively delivered on a tight and constantly moving timeline, all whilst maintaining their cool and focus. Everything was precisely delivered to plan: the tables, linens, menus and flowers. The three course sit down lunch for 15 people was served on time and so many compliments were received for the presentation and quality of the food. The ‘mocktails and canapés’ for 40 people also did not disappoint. After preparing hundreds of delicious canapés and pouring endless glasses of non-alcoholic cocktails (several varieties), these were then all served with competency and a smile. Rhubarb Kitchen surpassed my expectations, topped with the perfect balance of a professional yet friendly service. This event was challenging because it was all carried out without a commercial kitchen. Highly recommended and I hope to work with them again soon. More...

We used Rhubarb kitchen for a special birthday celebration and couldn't be happier. Lisa was really flexible and helpful during the planning stages, and despite dreadful weather threatening to make it impossible, Lisa and her team pulled it out of the bag! Rachel and Frances were fabulous - the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. They went out of their way to make the evening even better, by offering to open wine, take photos etc. They cleaned up expertly and were fun to have around. Lisa and her team created the most wonderful meal for our party of 15 people during a weekend stay at a holiday house in Derbyshire recently. All our menu choices were delicious and the food arrived hot and ready to serve. Restaurant quality, outstanding service and a fabulous menu with something for everyone. Sallie and Sarah provided a personal chef experience in our holiday let for a party of 14 people. They were both excellent and the food was amazing, not one bit of food left on any of my guests plates! They cleaned up after and you wouldn’t have known they had been there. Communication with Lisa before the event was excellent and she couldn’t have been more accommodating when choosing the menu. Had a family celebration this weekend and Rhubarb Kitchen supplied a 3 course meal plus cheese boards for the Saturday night and a 2 course Sunday lunch for 23 people including 4 children.

Lisa and her team were Superb, very friendly and helpful right from the point of enquiry and throughout the whole process of planning menus as well as being flexible with additions and changes on my part.

The food was amazing, served hot and so tasty, well presented and very good portion sizes.

All the team went above and beyond to make this event so special adding extra touches for the hosts and the children.

What I thought was a drop and go service with Sunday lunch turned into another event for us with the team again going above and beyond by setting the table and serving piping hot, beautiful roasts.

We had an event catered for by The Rhubarb Kitchen over the weekend. It was a large party for 70 people. They were extremely professional and attentive both in preparing for the party with advice on menu choices and on the evening with preapring and serving a hot meal to us all. Lisa and her team provided the lunch for our golden wedding party at our home. As soon as we met them we relaxed, feeling confident our anniversary would go perfectly. Wow oh wow! We held a small event for our trainees across the north region of The Wildlife Trusts and Lisa's team were fab! So positive, enthusiastic and accommodating. Was hired for a hen party weekend, dinner Sat night and breakfast Sunday morning. Very professional set up, friendly and organised. Had a fabulous meal cooked for us last weekend by the Rhubarb Kitchen for my mums 70th birthday. They came in and cooked a lovely 3 course meal in our holiday cottage. Simon and Ali were great and made sure we had a lovely, relaxing evening (even keeping our glasses topped up) which wasn’t part of the job description! They couldn’t have done more for us. If you want a fabulous restaurant quality meal in the comfort of your own home I would highly recommend them. The communication with Lisa in the organisation process was also great.
