Ever since it was refurbished a few years ago, the KC has been a great town centre pub/bar. Frequently hosting a different range of ales, it is a cosy place to enjoy good beer in a relaxing atmosphere. Must say that this pub deserves million stars . Loved the beautiful atmosphere with great staff who attended us . The landlord and lady took personal care for making our visit memorable . We had our wedding reception here in the summer. Food was amazing, plenty of complements from the guests, particularly the seabass. We had 40 people and it didn't feel overcrowded.All the staff were friendly and accomodating. They gave us the day we wanted. :) More...

This is one of the gems in Newbury. With a good range of ales and normaly something god in the guest ales I've yet ti have a bad evening here wheather having a quick drink or a night out

A very nice cosy place to go to and it's near the train station. They have, certainly for the Belgians, Leffe beer! Other beers are great too ; -) ! Very friendly personnel behind the bar and very helpful. Nice alround music and you don't need to shout to each other to understand what you're saying. I will certainly come back to visit this taverne to try out the food! 5 stars earned for sure!Went back today on friday 31st of August. Ate a hamburger and... It was wonderful! This pub is optimally placed about equidistant from the Railway Station, the Bus Station, and the Market Square. Inside the central bar servicing two rooms either side of the entrance reminds one of the original two-bar pub, but it has been tastfully converted to a modern decor. It has a changing list of interesting, well-kept real ales, and knowledgeable staff. The negative point for me is the quite loud Musak which one cannot escape; if they would turn this off, I would use the place much more often. More...
