The day was superb and flowed from each element to the next seamlessly. The entire team on the day were friendly, helpful and polite at all times, they were an absolute credit to the hospitality industry I must also give particular thanks and praise to Sarah for working her ‘absolute magic’ on my husband’s white cotton shirt when it was accidentally soaked with a very nice red wine! A very big thank you for everything you did. We were spoiled with great weather (never guaranteed!) and blessed with a fabulous day in a stunning venue – the memories will last a lifetime. We can’t thank Julie and her team at The Horn of Plenty enough for making our wedding day so perfect!

We knew from the moment we first met Julie and had the wedding tour that this would be our venue; nothing else compared.

Leading up to the big day everyone is so supportive and helpful and always on hand if you have a question. Julie took our ideas of the perfect wedding day and turned them into a reality. The chef is amazing and choosing our own wedding menu was so much fun, he listened to our food choices and complemented them perfectly. Not only do you get to choose your own 3 choices for each course but you also choose your canapés, veloute and petit fours which are all amazing.

We couldn’t have asked for more lovely staff! The parts of the day that had the HOP were involved in were just perfect, they moulded to any changes in timings and had the day organised perfectly. You don’t have to think or worry about a thing. Our guests have all been so complementary of the venue, the service, the food and the rooms which is what it’s all about!

We are lucky enough to live locally to this beautiful venue and will return regularly.

We can’t recommend a better venue for a wedding or any celebration!

Lovely hotel/restaurant, where we had a fabulous Christmas lunch, fine food and wines and no stress in homely Christmas atmosphere, staff were wonderful, all in all a wonderful day, best bits our hostess didn't have to lift a finger and there was no washing up!

Beautiful location, you feel like you are right in the middle of the moor! We attended a Wedding and reception all in the one place and the service was great. The bar, though small, managed to cater the many who visited it frequently and although we didn't stay, there are rooms upstairs which I heard were very nice.

Have stayed at the horn of plenty a number of times over the past few years, always while away on Business. The rooms (particularly the superior rooms in the new building at the back) are fantastic and if you can get one with a view over the Tamar valley then you will likely be rewarded by being able to watch a beautiful sunset from your room. The food at the hotel is exceptional and the dining experience is very pleasant and relaxed. The only downside for me is that they do not start serving breakfast until I think 8am (it might actually be later than that) which means when away on business and leaving earlier than 8 for meetings you can't dine in the restaurant for breakfast. The staff are always very accommodating and will drop off a selection of continental breakfast items the evening before so I can have breakfast in the room before leaving. More...
