I could not make a reservation at The Fat Duck (which is Heston’s signature restaurant) so this is conveniently way cheaper. The entrée was exquisite (Oxtail pudding). We enjoyed a special lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our little daughter (16 months) also enjoyed herself very much, especially her lovely book given by the waiting staff - a very nice touch indeed! Bravo!

We were celebrating my daughter and son in laws wedding anniversary.The scotch egg is a must have. We had Hash of snails, Smoked salmon and Crab sandwich with soup to start. 2 of us had Steak and 1 had Oxtail and kidney pudding, they were large portions served with very rich sauce. We were full by the time we ordered dessert but felt like we couldn’t finish the evening without trying one each.Wine that we chose to go along with our meal was excellent too.The waiting staff were very informative and attentive but not overly so.My daughter and son in law were given an anniversary card which was a really nice touch. As my 5th time here Hinds Head is hard to fault. Started off with the scotch egg as usual followed by the ham and pea soup. Seasonal dishes were great, we had the tomato salad, crab sandwich, smoked salmon, ribeye, stone bass, strawberry trifle, pineapple cheesecake and millionaire shortbread. All the dishes were fab.As we had a late lunch (4pm) it was very quiet so not much of an atmosphere. We have been for lunch on a number of occasions. This was our first visit for dinner. Although the food was superb as always I would say lunch is better value as the restaurant is not formal enough in my view for dinner at these prices. When I went to the crown for lunch I had a lovely roast dinner the staff were very helpful and friendly and the outside patio is very accessible for wheelchair users and very useful if you’re coming with pet dogs

What I call Heston’s number two pub in Bray. That said, a great old English pub serving a more Classic pub style menu. Good quality food and reasonable portions. . Reasonable wine list and lots of regular bar drinks options. The cost was above regular pub prices but this is Heston and not your average pub dining. Fantastic food, overpriced for lunch. The rum cocktail was excellent. Nice touch of a birthday candle in a small bite size cake. The only let down is the ladies, there was toilet all over the floor. Came here for mine and my partners 10th Anniversary. We arrived quite early so sat in the garden, which was a very nice experience (except for the wasps that kept floating around our drinks). We sat down inside for our meal and we received great service from the waiter. The food came quickly and was cooked to perfection. Bit pricey compared to similar quality cuisine in the area, and a bit slow to get the first drink ordered after we had been shown to the upstairs lounge for a pre-dinner drink. As it was my husbands birthday (one of the staffmembers asked if there was a special occasion) they got him a little sweet with a candle and a card!
