Therapist

Kate really helped me move forward and leave open up about things I wasn’t even aware of affecting me In my daily life. Everytime I would have a session I would always feel comfort and lighter. Kate helped me to deal and analyse with things in life I would panic about in a better and calm manner.
She also helped me address situations without overthinking and panicking.

I had a good few sessions with Kate and after every session I came away feeling much lighter and more able to take the week ahead on. Kate is wonderful she is passionate about what she does and truely wants to help make a difference. If Kate wasn't my counselor I would definitely want her as a friend she's a good egg! More...

Q&As

It is really rewarding to be a part of each of my client's journeys. I really enjoy meeting different people and working with a wide range of issues.

I passionately believe in and have experienced the benefits of therapy, I want to empower others to experience the same.

As an integrative counsellor I am flexible and respond to my clients individual needs. I utilise different counselling modalities and theories as and when I feel they would be of benefit, so my approach is completely bespoke and tailored to the individual.

I offer a non-judgmental, safe space from which to explore your emotional landscape. I am passionate about what I do and I wholeheartedly believe in the transformative nature of therapy.

I work online via zoom. I find this works very well, as it enables my clients to get the benefits of face to face therapy with the convenience and flexibility of online therapy.

I only work online so I have maintained this and opened my practice up to more clients.

Services

Person or client-centred therapy is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. Rather than being seen as the expert and directing the therapy, the counsellor offers unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.

CBT is a type of therapy that looks at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and helps to change some of these to manage your problems.

A key part of this is identifying the negative thinking patterns that you may feel trapped in, helping you to break free from these and to feel better.

The name Gestalt is derived from the German for ‘whole’ or ‘pattern’. It looks at the individual as a whole, and within their surroundings, rather than breaking things into parts. Practitioners help you to focus on the here and now and your immediate thoughts, feelings and behaviour to better understand how you relate to others and to situations. This can help you find a new, positive perspective on problems and bring about changes in your life.

TA is a comprehensive approach which incorporates aspects of humanistic, cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic therapy. It categorises the human personality into three states – Parent, Adult and Child – which can help you understand how you interact with others.

Therapists also look at how your beliefs and the way you interpret the world around you can create recurrent and problematic patterns of behaviour, and will work with you to help you to change.

Grounding techniques are tools used to self-regulate in moments of stress and anxiety. They serve as gentle reminders to stay focused and anchored in the present moment, which is what helps reduce the feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. Grounding techniques can be anything that brings your attention to the present, they enable the body to calm itself.
