Hampshire hounds is a fantastic dog service. Je-Ann is in my opinion just a wonderful lady. She has helped me with all my dogs and we went from an aggressive springer (wrongly diagnosed) to a dog that is such a softie now thanks to her words of wisdom and showing me how to just let the dog be a dog. She fosters dogs, looks after other dogs whilst on holidays, runs walking services , is always learning how to improve (though I don't think she does need too).
Really could not recommend anyone who is more professional and knowledgeable about the right ways to train your dogs. Brilliant lady who couldn't do more for your dogs and you.

I am surprised at Carrie's review.
Jan and her shitzu's have been working with me and my rescue dog Albie for nearly a year and he has
made great progress.
He trusts her, as do I, and without her knowledge, experience and support I would not have coped because he had so many issues that I was unable to address alone.

My name is Albie, I am about 4 yrs old & I think I am a mix between a staffie & a corgi. I lived on the streets in Portugal, which was pretty awful, but I was lucky to be rescued and brought to a centre in Wales.

My human Pat saw my picture on line, said she fell in love with me & I came to my forever home in October 2015. I was so pleased but I nearly messed things up because I did not know how to behave.

Because I was afraid I barked & jumped at every dog that came near me. Any noise made me jump, I hate the rain and was too frightened to go for a walk in case Pat left me.

Pat did not know what to do with me, she knew I loved her but she is an older person who lives alone and I know she began to wonder if she had made a mistake because I am very strong and once I pulled her over.

Both our lives changed when Pat looked on line for someone to help us and she found Je-an.

Jean loves dogs and has the training and experience to know what makes us behave as we do and how we can be helped. At first Je-an had to stay with me whenever Pat went out but gradually , with the help of her and her gang, I became less frightened of being abandoned. We went for walks, I learnt how to search for treats and how to play. Although I am a bit rough still I would not hurt anyone.

I walk better now and although I still am afraid of bicycles and noisy lorries Je-an is helping me to cope better with them. She is also helping Pat who was very anxious when she took me out and that made me worse but thanks to Je-an I am learning to trust people & other dogs and once I do I am their friend for life.

I love Je-an & her gang, she still works with us 3 times a week and I hope we can go on forever as I know Pat is happier as Je-an is always on hand with advice and practical help.

I know I still have some way to go, but when I think of where I was 8 months ago I feel really proud and think we were so lucky to find Je-an

Hampshire hounds have been working with our dog for over a year now and we are really pleased with the progress our dog has made. It's fair to say that out dog is not the easiest dog to walk, he has some issues that we believe a regular dog walker could not support him with. Je-an is a real professional and the passion for the job she does and the dogs she works with shines through. Not only has she developed our dogs confidence, she had developed our confidence, which when we first went to je-an had been knocked quite badly. Je-an walks our dog twice a week, however this is a more than a dog walking service, it's specialised and personal. We completly trust je-an with our dog and its is clear that there is a bond between them. We couldn't be without her now, she is reliable, flexible and always at the end of the phone for advise should we need her. Worth every penny!! More...

Q&As

I love seeing the progress that the dogs make, and how this deepens the relationship between the dog and their pet parent.

I was lucky enough to have my very first dog when I was 30, and due to issues I was having with her, I entered the fascinating world of dog training and behaviour, after learning so much, I decided to start my own dog walking business, and the things took off from there.
I've never looked back!!

Through my many years of experience, I have learnt so much about what makes a dog tick, and no matter what role I work in, be it as a trainer, or dog walker, I spend a lot of time getting to know each dog individually, ensuring that their needs are met, so that they can reach their true potential and enjoy life as a dog.
