I asked James if he could teach both myself and my 9 year old son some techniques to cope with upsetting and overwhelming anxiety. James was incredible with my son from the outset, and completely put him at ease with his calming nature. He is such a good listener and made note to every detail, in order to understand the real root of my son's concerns and how it made him feel on the inside. The techniques he showed us, were simple but so effective. I watched my son's whole demeanor change from the start of the session to the end.... it was incredible to witness.
Can't thank you enough for your time and patience. We wholeheartedly recommend James.

Lockdown has been taking its toll on my head with feelings of worthlessness and time wasting. I was once told off in school for being 'too helpful'!

The teacher in question scolded me and said; "Coates! Haven't you got anything more important to do?"

"More important than helping people? No Sir, I don't think I have." My response earned me a detention. But 30 years of skilled helping later I still haven't changed my answer.

I aim to provide a calm and safe space where clients can express their inner thoughts, feelings and emotions freely, and to create the environment where positive change happens.

I'm a skilled helper, a good listener and have a depth of knowledge of therapeutic models. As well as Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am also well trained and certified in a number of other Psychotherapy modalities including; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) & Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

Yes, as well as in person sessions, I've worked online (via Zoom or similar) for many years and have found it to be safe, convenient and effective.

There’s no doubting that the levels of Stress, Worry and Anxiety have risen due to the current Covid situation. The time spent isolated during Lockdown, along with family worries, Health and Work uncertainties have put an unusual amount of pressure on our daily lives, our relationships and our overall mental health.
