Returned for a second time this year because it was so good the last time.Nice and quiet and very close to town. My daughter and I stayed here for a night whilst on a Christmas shopping trip to Harrogate, quiet simply home from home, very welcoming and lovely comfy beds, and excellent breakfast. Very conveniently located for the town centre, just tucked away off a main road.||Our room was gorgeous, very clean and comfortable and with lovely facilities. ||The host was welcoming and let us leave our luggage after checking out (as there is no facility at the train station) - this was really considerate and much appreciated.||Unfortunately we didn't get to try the breakfast but it smelled lovely. We stopped over on Sunday, for the UCI Worlds. Room was exactly as promised. No one there on arrival, as there was a family issue, but instructions to access the room were simple to follow. This hotel describes themselves itself as a boutique hotel ||And we would kind of agree with that||Pricewise it was comparable to the premier inn but far nicer||And in a very good location 10 minute walk from the town ||We did find a few minor minus points||As we were in a small double room on the top floor we did experience some road noise (Maybe the double glazing needs checking out)so if you are a lite sleeper I would probably ask for a quieter room as this could be an issue ,There was just about parking space available but we noticed that there seemed to be quite a few cars in the grounds as there is an onsite hairdresser here as well||Wifi did not reach to top floor rooms ||Positive points ||Once the room heating came on we found the room to be nice and warm,even though the room was on the small side it was perfectly adequate for our needs nice shower, plenty of space in the wardrobe ,with nice little extras including ,dressing gowns and even sweets||The breakfast option had some extra,s you would not normally have eg prunes,the cooked breakfast part was also very good ||So to sum up ||If the price was right, we would probably stay h

On arriving into the city centre by bus from the airport, I decided I would walk to The Bijou as it was approx 10 minute walk away. ||As with a lot of the centre of Harrogate, there is a hill or two to contend with, but nothing nasty & was actually nice to stretch the legs after the journey.||On arrival at The Bijou,I met with a friendly lady who informed me that my room was in fact ready, pleasant surprise as I was 3 hours early and thought at best I could only drop my bags, great news.||The room was a good size and had everything I needed. I have to admit I didn't spend much time here as it was the cycing world championships weekend and was busy out and about, but had 2 great nights sleep and have absolutely no complaints.||Harrogate itself is really nice and would love to come back again to explore. We have spent the last 2 nights at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Service was second to none, everything was spot on. We specifically booked this accommodation because they offer a secure self check in and not many smaller establishments do this. The stay in the hotel was booked for my 30th birthday by my brother and boy it did not disappoint. Stunning building when you first park up. The beauty continues further on into a lovely reception area with a lounge leading off it (the decor was decadent and beautiful as shown in then photos). The rooms were immaculate, with a fantastic assortment of drinks available. Breakfast did not disappoint and the service was A*. I would highly highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a wonderful night in Harrogate. A short stroll into town.. what more would you want?! Fantastic and it made my birthday extra special! This small bed and breakfast hotel (ten rooms, all en suite) is in a good location and has the added bonus of parking on site. The double room we stayed in was clean and had all the amenities one would expect.There was a large en suite with a walk- in shower cubicle, a comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. Breakfast was excellent. We opted for the buffet which consisted of several different types of cereal, fresh and preserved fruits and a very tasty compote, yogurt, seeded toast and as much tea and coffee as required. All was presented nicely and the other guests had a choice of cooked breakfasts which did look very appetising indeed.||It was a 5 to 10minute walk into town (depending on your pace) where we were able to explore the old quarter with its cobbled streets and fascinating history. There are top quality restaurants on every corner and splendid individual shops down every street. We managed to have a light but tasty lunch at Bettys famous tea rooms and also enjoyed memorable meals at The Orchid, at Bistrot Pierre and at Gino's Italian.||The staff at this boutique hotel were welcoming, helpful and friendly and we would return without hesitation.
