Aside from legal issues like restrictions requiring parking or change of use or whether planning permission is required if not under permitted development, factors such as existing construction of walls, floor and roof affect suitability for conversion as well as whether there are services already in the garage. Other factors such as headroom and floor level above ground also need to be considered.

Firstly to check with local authority what planning permission maybe required. Have plans prepared. Contact building control and make application. Then carry out the building works once everything is in place

The headroom achievable must meet the requirements under building control as well whether a staircase can be installed to gain access to the loft

First, having plans drawn up as well as structural calculations. If under permitted development then just building control application needs to be made. If outside of the permitted development rules, then a planning application needs to be made. Party wall agreements also need to be put in place. Once all legal requirements have been satisfied then the building works can commence.

I have been working in the building and construction sector for over 20 years.

I'm a member of the Consumer protection association and so my work comes with an insurance backed warranty. If for any reason my work proves defective and I'm no longer in business, my clients can call the insurers who will then arrange for their approved contractors to honour the warranty

Delivering the project to the client's expectations and finding solutions to technically challenging problems.

I'm a hard working and driven individual who wants to have no limits as to how far my professional career can take me. I also enjoy being my own boss!

I have been subcontracting for larger companies for many years so gained invaluable experience in all sorts of different projects as well as having worked with some of the most talented architects and structural engineers. My firm delivers a high standard of work but at competitive prices. Best of all my work is comes with an insurance backed warranty. So my clients ha e complete peace of mind.
