Wonderful service! And a Godsend for me! I've been with a few accountants and tax advisers over the years but I have never stuck with one as long as I've been with Taxfile (c. 3-4 years and counting) ... not only is it a *great* service they supply but the Taxfile team are also lovely people who really know what they're doing — and they seem to *easily* do all the tax stuff I simply don't understand. Which reminds me; why does the government make it so difficult to account for your finances!? H.M. Revenue & Customs tax return forms may as well be in Dutch as far as I'm concerned so it's great that I can just visit Taxfile and get it all sorted out ... while I wait in fact ... by experts like Cristina and Guy. What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Typical examples of work that we do at Taxfile include:
• Self-Assessment tax returns – computing the figures, offsetting any allowable expenses and submitting the return to HMRC on the customer's behalf (we do over 1500 of these a year);
• Tax returns and other tax-related work for individuals, the self-employed, taxi and cab drivers, landlords, retired people and many others;
• Arranging CIS tax refunds for sub-contractors working in the construction industry (we do over 500 of these a year);
• Accounting for landlords including lettings income, allowable expenses etc.
• Bookkeeping services;
• VAT accounting and VAT returns;
• Tidying up of tax issues, incorrect tax codes, late returns, rebates, National Insurance, etc.
• Handling of Auto Enrolment for Workplace Pensions, on behalf of small businesses;

What inspired you to start your own business?
Guy Bridger started 'Taxfile' as it's known (Guy Bridger Ltd being the 'official' name) after seeing how frustrating it often was for people to sort out their tax matters. Even a supposedly simple tax return can be very tricky for someone who isn't sure which figures are correct and what expenses can be offset against income. Tax can be a nightmare for those who aren't in the industry ... but for Taxfile it's second nature and we genuinely love helping people sort their tax affairs out.

CIS tax refunds
For those working as sub-contractors in the construction industry, Taxfile will fill in and file your return as well as apply, on your behalf, for your CIS tax refund. We successfully arrange for about 500 CIS refunds every year and are well trusted by HMRC.
Tax Help for Landlords
If you're a landlord with income from lettings, Taxfile can help make sure you pay only the tax you need to. We'll ensure that you have offset all allowable expenses so as to minimise your tax liability. We also help with Capital Gains Tax issues.
Tax Help for Taxi & Cab Drivers
If you drive for a living, Taxfile will be happy to sort out your tax affairs for you. We can offset all allowable expenses, fill in and file your tax return and even arrange for any tax rebate that you might be owed by HMRC.
Help with HMRC Tax Enquiries
Are you being investigated by HMRC? If you have a tax enquiry going on, Taxfile can help. In fact, if you're a customer who has filed their tax return through Taxfile by the statutory deadline, our fees to help you are are usually covered automatically by our free Tax Enquiry Fee Protection service. This could potentially save you hundreds!
