I use an Integrative approach which integrates a range of therapies from Psychodynamic, CBT, and Person-Centred. I also use life coaching, somatic interventions and Holistic Therapies. This means your sessions could vary massively. One session could be CBT and the next could be somatic interventions to help integrate the mind and body.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as Tapping. EFT is a psychological acupressure technique that supports emotional healing. It combines elements from cognitive therapy and exposure therapy with acupressure points. Individuals tap on specific points on their body, primarily on the head and face, while focusing on particular negative emotions or physical sensations. The tapping is thought to balance the energy system and alleviate psychological stress and physical pain. It's commonly used to treat anxiety, depression, physical pain, and other emotional issues.

The Flash Technique is a relatively recent therapeutic method used to help individuals process traumatic memories without having to fully engage with the distressing aspects of those memories.

Originally it was meant to be a prerequisite for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy but it has been proven to work extremely well as a standalone intervention.

The technique involves the client thinking briefly (a "flash") about the traumatic memory while simultaneously focusing on a neutral or positive thought or activity. This helps to minimise the emotional intensity typically associated with recalling traumatic events. By doing so, it prepares the individual to engage (if needed) more deeply and safely with the traumatic memory in subsequent therapy sessions.

The Flash Technique can be particularly helpful for individuals who find it difficult to engage in trauma-focused therapy due to intense emotional distress. It offers a way to make the therapeutic process more tolerable, potentially increasing the effectiveness of treatment for trauma and PTSD.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that involves guiding someone into a deeply relaxed state, known as hypnosis, where they can be more open to suggestions and discussions. In this state, the person's attention is highly focused, and they may become less aware of their surroundings, allowing them to explore thoughts, memories, and feelings that might be hidden from their conscious mind.

The therapeutic use of hypnosis can help individuals address a variety of issues. For example, it is often used to help manage pain, reduce stress, and overcome habits like smoking. Hypnotherapy can also be beneficial in treating anxiety, phobias, and sleep disorders. The therapist uses suggestions that can help modify the person's behaviour, emotional content, and attitudes, contributing to their overall well-being.

Matrix Reimprinting is an advanced form of EFT. It involves recalling past traumatic memories and 'reimprinting' them with more positive or supportive outcomes. This technique is based on the belief that these past traumas influence one's current health and well-being. By changing how these past events are held in the memory (the "matrix"), individuals can reduce the impact of these traumas and foster healing. This method can help people to overcome negative beliefs, improve their self-esteem, and better manage their emotional and physical health.
