We are living in a time of great uncertainty and for many, the world can feel like an overwhelming place. I work with individuals seeking relief from the problems they face at home or at work to regain control of their lives and I help those who are experiencing emotional difficulties to feel better.
As a parent and the owner of several enterprises, I know about stress, pressure, and the difficulties of getting the balance right in business and in life. Very few of us sail through without experiencing several traumatic and distressing events, myself included. I hail from the Highlands of Scotland where one of our major health strengths is our sense of humour as well as our innate ability to tell stories that stir your soul.
I have been a qualified therapist for nearly 20 years and use a blended approach of traditional talking therapies (CBT, NLP, Hypnotherapy) with my clients. It is really important to me that what I offer provides the support you need quickly and in the comfort of your home to give you the time you need to talk when you need it the most.

I’m 19 and I have struggled with anxiety since I can remember. I always just thought it was something that couldn’t be fixed. I’ve spoken to multiple counsellors in the past but I was never given any helpful advice on how to actually tackle the anxiety. In 2019 it became a huge monster for me and I was having panic attacks regularly and in public, my worst ones lasting days. I was trying to manage and figure it out alone until the first lockdown when it all just became overwhelming and I knew I couldn’t keep struggling alone. My dad found Emma on bark and we had a consultation, even after the half an hour we spent talking I came away with new tools to manage and start to minimise my anxiety. For the first time felt like maybe it was something I could actually conquer. I have been seeing Emma for around 8 months now and I’ve honestly gotten so much better. It’s been a year since my worst panic attack and it’s amazing to think how much I have grown since then. I have done things I honestly thought I could never do again and it’s all because I started speaking to Emma, every single session is invaluable. I have learnt how to work with my anxiety and it is no longer a ruling factor in my day to day, I can’t even remember the last time I had a panic attack !!! I speak to Emma for half an hour a week now as opposed to the hour per week sessions I needed when I started. It’s great as even though I’m not super anxious now I’m able to work through worries, triggers or new issues before they become a giant problem. If you’re thinking about going with Emma I would say at least just try it because she has been amazingly helpful for me, she actively listens to you and gives you reasons why you feel the way you do and tools and plans on how to tackle things. If you are struggling with anxiety, Emma is the person to help you. Quite simply, Emma excels at what she does. She is extremely insightful, intelligent, empathetic and gentle, and her considerable and lengthy experience means she is quickly able to tailor her approach to you and your needs. Working with Emma has honestly changed my life. I have suffered my whole life with anxiety and OCD without realising what it was and Emma has been wonderful supporting me through this. I have tried other therapists before but I have never found someone as compassionate and personal as Emma. I love Emma's sense of humour and how she can help me see the more positive flip side of situations. She can really make me laugh which is all I need sometimes so that the world doesn't seem so terrible. Hypnotherapy with Emma is amazing. I’ve tried other therapists but she is definitely the best I have found. Everything about the session is great, her voice is so soothing you can’t help but find yourself completely relaxing.
After just one session my anxiety was considerably better and I was able to sleep and eat again. The second session really helped with my racing thoughts & my panic attacks stopped happening as often. I’m now going through CBT with her and feel like I’m back in the driving seat of my life. Before I found Emma I was a mess, I couldn’t go to work or even leave the house and I thought my life was over because my anxiety had gotten so out of control.
