What do you love most about your job?
The best thing about being an architect is liaising directly with clients on their needs and aspirations, to be able to tailor spaces to their individual needs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Before founding TAK, Aleks worked for a number of large architecture companies, on a mix of high-end residential projects, as well as University of Cambridge physics laboratories and the residential aspect of Battersea Power Station. It is creating spaces for people to interact and flourish in that has always been a passion for her, and she got approached by a few different people to assist with their home refurbishments in 2019. What started as a side hassle, turned out to be the most enjoyable projects. Ultimately, TAK became Aleks's full-time focus in 2020. Ever since, TAK have been commissioned to do a wide range of projects, including residential remodelling and extensions, a bakery, and a restaurant.
