One word, Revolutionary! My dog (Ruby) has been pulling on the lead and a real nightmare for years! Conrad was so helpful! He gave really good advice and training techniques we fixed our walks in such a short time! Conrad really knows what he is talking about and taught me how dogs learn which I knew nothing about! I enjoyed the sessions so much I signed up to the block classes of training he offers and myself and Ruby have learnt lots of tricks! I have noticed that my bond with Ruby is so much more than it used to be! Cannot recommend highly enough! If you have any problems with your dog or just want to know more about how to make your relationship with your dog better then go no further! More...

Conrad gave excellent training advice while we walked my two daycare dogs, who haven’t been socialised and behave quite defensively when they encounter other dogs. He has a warm and approachable manner and they loved him. I have used his techniques and seen a noticeable difference in a short time. I’d definitely recommend him! More...

Q&As

I love meeting new people and helping them understand how their dogs see the world. Our games based approach mean that you and your dog have fun and you both learn how play can strengthen your bond with each other and how you can tackle the world as a team.

Originally from South Africa, I grew up around all sorts of animals. My first dog was a Maltese poodle called Jodie who was just the sweetest ball of fluff. Growing up we didn’t know much about training our dogs, but for some reason, we always ended up with well-behaved dogs. Turns out if you treat your dog with care and reinforce good behaviour your dog loves spending time with you.

I’m Conrad. Head trainer at Tail Academy Dog Training. I’m a qualified Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and Pro Dog Trainer based in Edinburgh, but happy to travel all over Scotland’s central belt. Our methods are proven to get results, and most of all you'll have fun along the way.

This package consists of a pre puppy arrival visit, and a follow up visit to make sure your pup has settled in.

Things to buy

This session lasts until we’re done, but usually around 1h:30min.

We’ll then follow up with another visit a week or so after the pup’s arrived to answer any questions. We’ll prepare you for training and to help you deal with common puppy problems you may be facing such as

Biting, nipping and chewing
