About

Hi, I'm Stuart. In 2020, I completed my four-year diploma in psychotherapy at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy. I'm a member of the UKCP and covered by their ethical guidelines. My decision to train as a therapist, which began with my own personal therapy, is the fruit of a life-long interest in psychoanalysis and human nature.

Therapist

I have been receiving counselling with Stuart for more than a year now and I thank my lucky stars to have found him in one of the most distressing times in my life.
His calm demure and attention to detail ha helped me greatly to understand more about myself creating a safe space to express my thoughts and feelings without any judgement.
Well recommended!

Jungian Psychoanalysis

I entered psychotherapy with Stuart after a failed initial attempt to access help elsewhere. Stuart has made me feel comfortable in sharing experiences which were not easy for me to accept and showed both great listening skills and professional expertise in guiding me to a much clearer understanding of the issues and helping me find solutions. I have found the sessions with Stuart enlightening with many moments of sudden insight and clarity which have been triggered by his skills. More...

Q&As

I get a great deal of fulfillment from helping clients to understand themselves and their life situations. No matter how self-aware we are, we can't see ourselves as others see us. I'm fascinated by the way people think and feel. For me, everyone is uniquely of interest. It gives me great satisfaction to be involved in another person's self-discovery. But greater even than that is the satisfaction of helping another person to overcome their difficulties and live their life as they want to.

This job is my vocation. I spent years in a variety of jobs that didn't truly reflect my interests or play to my strengths. It's through my own therapy journey that I've understood that it's possible to break out of my negative assumptions about work, and build myself a different career, one which really means something to me, and which makes a real difference to my clients.

Anyone looking to undertake therapy should choose the therapist that fits them best. I'm very happy to arrange an initial free-of-charge telephone consultation to see if we could work together effectively. I can promise that any client who approaches me for therapy will be treated with respect, honesty and understanding. I take my responsibilities in this role very seriously, and I'm deeply committed to my clients' well-being.
