Seeing the transition in people from the beginning of a clients first therapy session, up to where they no longer need therapy anymore as their mindset and life is where they want them to be. Absolutely a pleasure to be a part of and to contribute to.

My own son has ASD, ADHD, PDA and was in a terrible place mentally, the system failed him. If the NHS treated him as an individual instead of a statistic he wouldn't have struggled the way he did, private therapy helped him massively.
I don't want anyone to go through what my son went through.

At 'Speaking Your Mind' we have a psychotherapist practitioner (doctor in psychology), therapists, counsellors and a registered nurse.

We offer therapy and counselling to address all mental health issues, as well as hypnotherapy and diagnosis.

Our opening times vary from 10am to 9.30pm. We offer our services out if hours for emergencies, at no extra cost than a usual session.

All our clients receive FREE 24/7 support if and when required.

Yes, we offer telephone and video call appointments, as well as face to face appointments in clinic.

CBT is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think & behave. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. This talking therapy aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.

You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems rather than focusing on issues from your past. It looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy is a short-term form of psychotherapy that helps you identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the rationality of those feelings, and replace them with healthier, more productive beliefs. REBT focuses mostly on the present time to help you understand how unhealthy thoughts and beliefs can create emotional distress, this then leads to unhealthy actions and behaviours which interfere or block your life goals. Once identified and understood, negative thoughts and actions can be changed and replaced with positive and more productive behaviour, allowing you to develop more successful personal and professional relationships.



REBT can help you overcome negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, guilt, trauma or inappropriate anger. This approach is also used to help change stressful, self-defeating behaviours and bad habits that prevent you from reaching and achieving your goals.



To help you manage and overcome difficulties I will work with you to identify the beliefs and rigid thought patterns that are holding you hostage. Through a variety of mental exercises, you will learn how to reduce your negative thoughts and responses, replacing them with healthier, more constructive and self-accepting thoughts. Together we will set new life targets to help you achieve your goals.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling language and behaviour to act the way we do. NLP is used for personal development and success, to transform lives for the better.


NEURO - Each individual has established their own unique mental filtering system for processing the millions of bits of data being absorbed through the senses. The first mental map of the world is constituted of internal images; sound, tactile awareness, internal sensations, tastes and smells that form as result of the neurological filtering process.

LINGUISTIC - We then assign personal meaning to the information being received from the world outside. We form our second mental map by assigning languages to the internal images, sounds and feelings, tastes and smells, thus forming everyday conscious awareness.

PROGRAMMING - The behavioural response that occurs as a result of neurological filtering processes and subsequent linguistic map.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, or I may recommend a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months.

Reiki, pronounced 'Ray-Key', is a Japanese healing system discovered in the early 1900's by a Japanese Buddhist monk called Mikao Usui.

Reiki means 'Universal life-force energy'. When you are connected to this loving energy during a Reiki treatment it gently flows through you initiating your body's own natural ability to heal itself and re-balance. Reiki releases energy blockages and allows your life-force to flow freely.

There are no contraindications for Reiki so this treatment is suitable for everyone including pregnant women, children, babies and even animals.

During a treatment, you will lie fully clothed on a comfortable therapy couch whilst I place my hands above or on, major energy centres along the body called Chakras. There are seven key Chakra energy points along the body which govern major organs, glands and emotions in the area where they are based.

The healing energy of Reiki is effective with most physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems.
These include:
Pain relief
Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Insomnia
Feeling stuck in any area of your life
Low self-esteem
Health issues or illness

Some clients feel some relief after just one session, others may need several sessions for the Reiki energy to do its work and to see improvement of deeper issues.

Clients enjoy the relaxation and the calmness so much that some like to book regular sessions for their general wellbeing. Regular Reiki helps promote good sleeping patterns, as well as happy and fresh feelings.
