For me choosing a DJ was so daunting. Well I can reassure anyone that Roy, was very professional.
He was really helpful with everything I was unsure about also. Having a client portal was brilliant, I was able to compile a playlist to suit my guests. All our guests loved the music. Roy was absolutely amazing for my 21st birthday party. We certainly would recommend Slipbeats, they provided not only the DJ for our reception, but also some additional coloured uplighting for the room. They were very efficient to deal with, always responding to queries promptly. The DJ made contact with our venue without us having to get involved, and between him and the staff at our venue they arranged everything - the lighting was put in place earlier in the day, with the DJ returning later to set up for the evening. This was a big stress off our minds, and meant we didn't even have to think about it (as there were plenty of other things to focus on!). What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Great music...! lights, party packs etc.. are additional - The music must be the number 1 priority. Watching the crowd to gauge their reactions to keep the energy levels up and consistent is the key to a successful event.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I'm an open format mobile DJ with over 25 years of experience, having started in 1987 playing in various pubs, bars and private functions. I would be booked either a Thursday or Friday, Private Party on a Saturday and a regular spot on a Sunday evening in a wine bar.
Every other Saturday morning I would also do a 2 hour hospital radio show for the Middlesex hospital in central London playing mostly 80's soul and funk.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love using the power of music to connect people with memories and create new ones -dancing, singing, and laughing along.

I’m a music lover across almost every genre, and I have lots of fun discovering music. I constantly listen to music either on the Radio, Spotify, Tidal, DJ Record Pools, blogs, and friends to stay plugged into the latest music. I’m an audiophile: committed to excellent sound quality. This is why I purchase only the highest quality music files and invest in best-in-class, professional grade audio equipment from vendors such as Pioneer and RCF. My music library is extensive spanning all decades and genres, and I'm constantly adding to it. I love when a client asks me to play a song or genre I'm not familiar with because I get to explore and learn.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My Love of Music first and foremost, I have always collected music and always had a passion for technology so when I had a chance to combine the two and do something that I love it was a no brainer.
Being a single-person company, I have less overhead and can offer great pricing to my clients. I can also give a truly customised, bespoke service because I don’t have to manage consistency for a team of DJ’s with pre-set playlists or templates. I’m able to go above and beyond to over-deliver on client expectations. I want all my clients to say that I bring a very high value for the price.
Why should our clients choose you?
My goal with every event is to deliver on the client’s vision and truly bring the party! I'm very organised, which helps put my client's minds at ease. We bring the excitement, the joy, and often the special element that is the common ground that brings families and friends together. We are not about silly gimmicks or cheesy dances. We are all about great music and a packed dance floor. We are experienced professionals that have packed 100s of dance floors. What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We always wear masks and everything is sanitised after use, our microphones have little 'Condom' type covers and a 3 metre rule is observed at all times during this pandemic.
