What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Observation of the audience and a great understanding of the music the dj specialises in.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Ska, Reggae, 2-tone, dancehall and rocksteady, Plenty of terrific music that sits within the reggae genre and occasionally into the punk, new wave and mod scene. Whether I'm dj'ing on vinyl via the Technics 1210s or CD/digital the show is the same, a passion for the music delivered with infectious enthusiasm and a knowledge of the history of the songs and the artists.
What do you love most about your job?
Entertaining, brining an energetic enthusiasm for the music and feeding that to the audience
What inspired you to start your own business?
Redundancy provided a pillow to explore my love for entertaining far more than I had the time for with a 5-day week in the city. Now Ive reduced my week to a 3-day week allowing for dj work from Thursday to Sunday.
Why should our clients choose you?
I deliver on my promise to entertain, I have a great understanding of the music I love and a connection with the audience.
In 2018 I dj'd with some of the biggest names in 2-tone and reggae: UB40, The Selecter, The Beat, Bad Manners, Neville Staple, The Skatalites etc. And 2019 already has over 50 gigs booked including Skamouth (Great Yarmouth), Skabour (Folkestone), From the Jam, Skarox (Cork) and SotL4 (Benidorm).
I can always provide a full biography, showing the diversity of gigs I've been asked to do and gigs I've put on myself.
I help promote all of my events that I'm booked for, actively get involved in advertising for them, produce artwork for posters and help sell tickets where applicable.
