SJS Jet Washing Clean And Restore Process
The Clean
We start by clearing the area ready for pressure washing. This includes removing loose weeds, leaves and any other surface debris. Plant pots, bins and door mats are moved (as possible).
The initially clean is done with a surface rotary machine to remove the majority of surface dirt and grime. By doing this first, we are then able to access any stained or problem areas.
Specialist chemicals are then applied where needed.
This is followed by a turbo lance to remove the stubborn weeds and stains.
Once the driveway meets our high expectations of cleanliness we finish by rinsing the driveway and any areas splashed during the cleaning process.
Sanding - Block Paving
Applying sand is a very important part of block paving, it’s the glue that holds it all together. If the sand is not replaced the blocks will start to move and sink causing dips and hollows that in time cause the collapse of the driveway.
It is not suitable to apply sand straight after the cleaning process. We return on the next dry day as sand should be applied once the surface is fully dry. Applying sand when wet will result in a very poor finish as the sand will not compact between the joints. You will also be left with a sandy mess on your lovely clean driveway.
Sealing The Surface
The sealant will give a durable gloss or matt finish to the surface, help to prevent weed growth, stabilise the sand and stop oil and other liquids penetrating the surface and make for easy removal.
At SJS Jet Washing we only believe in using the best market leading sealants. Depending on the surface we will use either Smartseal or Resiblock as these are both long lasting and produce a lovely finish. These sealants are more expensive but we believe the results speak for themselves. A cheap sealant will give a initial good finish but will very quickly deteriorate and provide no protection to your driveway.
We do not take shortcuts by applying sealants in the wrong weather conditions. It is very important that sealants are applied to a fully dry surface with no rain forecast for 24hrs to enable the drying process. Avoid any company that offers to seal your driveway during winter as this can cause long lasting damage to your driveway by locking in moisture.
