Loft Conversions
Alex, Steve and Sarah contributed to providing our ideal loft conversion. After consultation Steve came up with the plan which was perfect and the quote was very competitive .
A payment plan was agreed and as work progressed everything went smoothly.
Alex was available and able to sort out any minor problems and we liased with Sarah for anything else.
The work was completed to an excellent standard and on time.
We were really pleased with the final outcome and people comment on how natural the extension looks , saying it looks as if it was originally built that way.
All in all a brilliant job delivered in a professional but personal way.

Used Alex and his team to do an extention above my double garage adding a bedroom, ensuite and walking wardrobe up to the point of decorating. His knowledge of regulations and council procedures was invaluable and he managed everything from the building notice to the end result. The build was tricky due to having to build above not just the garage but the utility room and office and needing to keep the space dry. Alex was able to recommend novel succesful workarounds without the additional cost of scaffolding canopies. The work took longer than originally planned due to the impact of Covid on manpower and materials but I was kept informed by Sarah in the office so not left wondering what was happening. The finished result is exactly what I wanted, I'm not going to say that I would use Simply home designs again because I already am! I'm having a second single extention and remodeling my kitchen and dining room. More...

Loft Conversions
Simply Homes converted my loft with a full-ensuite for a victorian terrace house. What stood out was their flexibility in considering my design ideas. As a consequence I have a stunning loft with real artistry. My personal design inputs added a time to the schedule, but it was an excellent trade-off. Simply Home designs ltd fronted by Alex Irwin were hired in 2021 to complete an extension on my home. Alex was very enthusiastic and seemed optimistic about what he could achieve.
He promised he could complete the work in 6-8 weeks once started. He was very persistent for money and kept asking for more. I paid him nearly £21,000 over 16 weeks and it was clear neither he nor his team were at all competent and the job was ever going to get finished.
His work was so bad I told him to leave. He left my house in an absolute mess. His work was so bad everything he has done needs to be removed. The flat roof is appalling and leaks so bad it will need to be completely removed and rebuilt. The floor has been ripped up and has to be laid again. The steelwork has not been fitted or welded correctly.
He was paid thousands of pounds for UPVC doors and windows which never arrived along with floor installation and drainage.
We now have to pay a further £40,000 to have his work corrected and the extension completed.
ALEX IRWIN (Simply home designs) is a cowboy and a conman! Avoid at all cost.

Simply Home Designs removed an old bath, replaced it with a walk-in shower and retiled my bathroom. The sales manager provided a very detailed estimate (very reasonable considering the work required), the installation team worked really hard to finish the job within 3 days and the end result is excellent. From day one the level of customer service provided by the team (sales manager, installation team and office staff) was absolutely fantastic and the work was extremely reliable, professional and quickly carried out with minimum disruption. How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
They can tell by looking at the size
of the garage and if the garage roof is high enough
And if the garage is not too far from the house other wise it could cost a lot of money to join it to the house
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Insulate the floor
Insulate the outer wall of the garage
Make sure the front wall has a suitable foundation to build a wall if it hasn’t got the strength a footing will need to be dug
Once the wall has been build and internal Walls have been insulated and the plaster can begin to plaster
The window can be fiirted
Run electric wires for plugs and lights
Remove garage door and build a wall at a suitable height
Lay flooring once wiring and plumbing has been done
