What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe the secret is getting to know your clients and being open and honest so that people can get to know me. There are so many fantastic photographers out there, the main thing is to find a photographer who style you like and whom you feel you can connect with.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I usually work with clients in the field of family and wedding photography. I want to know what expectations you have from the shoot and any worries or concerns you might have before. Many people feel a little self conscious before a shoot but ultimately I try to reassure my clients that it is my job to put you at ease and "get the shots".
I hope I always try to bring a "one size doesn't fit all" approach to my work. I feel passionately that I need to collaborate with the client to produce beautiful photos. I take a great deal of pride in my work and assure you that a lot of time and effort goes into them.
What do you love most about your job?
When I leave a shoot knowing I've captured something beautiful. And seeing the reactions of people of clients of treasured memories.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business fairly organically. I took photos for many years of my own life and friends. A hobby turned into an obsession which turned into a job. Starting my own business has allowed me to stamp my own personality and style over the photos I produce. Which when other people like them is a great buzz.
