Sean is so brilliant with our dog Cobo. She loves her walks with Sean - she even yelps with excitement when he arrives! He's friendly, always punctual and 100% reliable. Sean has even managed to stop Cobo tugging on her lead which was driving us nuts! Would 100% recommend his services - a true professional. More...

Sean has been fantastic with my dog Marley. He is reliable, professional, friendly and, most importantly, so happy to be spending time with Marley which created a good relationship between them and makes his walks very fun. On top of that, Sean helps me with Marley’s training, leveraging his own studies to become a dog behaviourist / trainer. More...

My spirited Border Terrier is always so pleased to see Sean when he arrives to take him for a walk so I know he enjoys the time they spend together. Finney always comes home tired and happy and I feel confident that Sean has the skill, experience and care to deal with his sometimes wayward tendencies, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I thoroughly recommend Sean to other dog owners. More...

Q&As

Well - naturally - building relationships with the dogs, caring for them, learning about their personalities and providing them an engaging and satisfying walk. I also enjoy the business element of the job - priding myself on the professionalism of the service I provide to my clients. For example, I have legally approved service contracts so that both parties are fully protected and use modern software for managing bookings and invoicing.

I wanted to follow my passion and work with dogs every day. I had always been interested in dog training, and my medium term aim is to establish a dog training and behavioural services business which will run alongside the Sean Takes The Dogs Out dog walking business. I have the initial certifications completed and by the autumn of 2021, I will be an accredited dog training and behaviourist.

Because I'm much more than most dog walkers in that I don't just like dogs, but am investing in gaining external accreditations on how to train them and best handle their behavioural challenges. I'm also fully licensed, have public liability insurance in place, am insured to hold your keys, I'm criminal record checked and qualified in Canine First Aid. I will provide you a professional and reliable service. That said, the dogs welfare, health and safety is paramount and come above all business considerations. I will provide conscientious care for all the dogs entrusted to me at all times.

Dog walking can only happen in the real physical world and not virtually!

I comply with the additional protocols as advised by NARPS and the UK government for the handling and handover of dogs. Details can be provided during initial consultation with prospective customers.

Combines a dog walk with training for 1 hour at a time. Behaviours that can be worked on in a Walk & Train session include (a) Loose leash walking (b) Recall (c) Focus around other dogs and people (d) Reactivity. Proofing (or consolidation) of previous training in more distracting environments can also be undertaken. Free initial discovery phone session to find out more about training needs of the dog and your walk requirements. Focus areas for training and regularity of walks is agreed. Report back provided after each session on what was covered and achieved. This is not a quick fix and requires a hands on approach from owners between sessions. Owner participation in some of the training/walking sessions will maximise benefits to ensure consistency of approach
