What do you love most about your job?
Although the feeling of satisfaction from picking a lock will never get old, the real satisfaction comes from knowing the good you're doing in keeping families and their processions safe. Knowing that your work could stop the possibility of a lovely family going through the stress and trauma of experiencing a break-in. This makes the role of a locksmith very full-filling. I view every job as a challenge in making it as difficult as possible for an intruder to gain access and I do not feel satiated until I have done so. Everyday I get to help people who are in distress or in an emergency situation which is putting their day on hold. To see their relief on a person's face once I've fixed the problem for them is a great feeling. It ultimately drives me to get the job done as fast as possible for people, so i can end their feeling of distress and replace it with relief!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Around a year before I decided to invest in the training to become a locksmith, my van was broken into and I had over £3000 worth of tools stolen. I had accumulated these tools over many years, and they had served a long life and never let me down. Some of these tools were almost sentimental to me because they're attached with memories of the projects I have ventured and indulged in over the years. Fortunately, my home has never been burgled but I can only imagine the stress and sadness one must feel after such an awful event. Nobody should have to go through this level of stress and there are lots of ways in which we can deter burglars. It's been (and will continue to be) my goal to help reduce the number of burglaries that occur locally by increasing home and outdoor security. Testament to this, we will only install high security anti-snap locks as they're very difficult to get passed and are hated by burglars. Even if a burglar was to commit to breaking one of these locks, they won't be able to do so without causing a lot of noise. It's therefore unlikely they will accomplish this unnoticed. We supply and fit these ant-snap locks at the same going rate as other locksmiths charge to install an average cylinder lock which can be broken in seconds!
Gain Entry
If you've lost your keys or locked yourself out, we can gain access to your property without damaging the lock in any way. On average, we are able to pick a lock within 10 minutes but it can range up to 30 minutes.
Emergency Locksmith
Whether you've lost your keys, snapped them in the lock or locked yourself out with the key in the other side of the lock, we can help you gain access to your property with little to no damage.
Lock Upgrades
In around 85% of cases of burglaries, access is gained via snapping the lock. This can be prevented by installing anti-snap locks or snap-safe locks, which can be supplied and fitted by us.
uPVC Lock Maintenance & Repairs
Eventually uPVC mechanisms begin to wear and no longer work effectively. In most cases it's possible to repair the mechanism without having to replace it, saving you money. If you have trouble locking your door or windows or you've noticed your uPVC door handle is sagging, its probably time for a new mechanism.
