craftsmen at work I had been let down by 4 companies ,i came out of my house and a gentleman was walking past i notice a company name on his tee shirt and asked him if he would consider doing a job for me, he said he would ask his boss. 8-15 am the next morning he was knocking on my door and introduced him self as ALAN told me his boss would be intouch .Tell you something it was the best thing i had done stopping Alan .there boss Ray called and gave me a price i was really impressed with the professionalism.these were all old school builders who took great pride in there work.there were 4 trades on the job carpenter-plasterer-plumber -electrician Ray, Alan,Ben and carl .there work ethics was second to none and there attitude was brilliant. definatley a company i would recommend to any to use if they wanted a great gang to work in there house as craftsman like these a few and far between, More...

We are extremely satisfied with this company. Excellent team spirit where they collaborated with plumbers, electricians and numerous specialists to get the job done efficiently and effectively. Mike and Dave oversaw the work throughout - clarified any concerns we had and these were dealt with accordingly to the highest standards. We had the entire kitchen damp proofed and re-plastered with our kitchen units removed then put back in with no adverse effects. New bathroom flooring and toilet and sink installed along with outside rendering and damp proofing of outside walls. I am writing this review on behalf of my grandparents, they couldn't reccomed Abbey Builders enough after the most recent work completed by the company. After using Abbey builders once before in November 2018 to remove a chimney brest in the living room, along with full replastering and some electrical work they used them again for a new extension and kitchen fit out. "We just had a new kitchen and extension built by Dave and his employees. We also had a new garage roof, fully fitted kitchen, plumbing and tiling work completed. Abbey Builders have done 2 big jobs for us now over the last couple of years and each time they have been excellent. We had an initial damp and rot assessment from Ritchie which was very thorough and far more in-depth than any other company had previously done. This was followed by a quote from Dave the owner that was very reasonable and fair compared to the other damp/rot companies on the market.Each time we had work done we had to have floorboards, windows and plaster replaced and once a beam put in to maintain the houses structure. This was done with care and attention on our house which is an old Victorian house with many period features.The workers were always courteous, hard working and professional. The work was done within a reasonable time scale without unnecessary delay.One of the biggest strengths of Abbey Builders is that Dave the owner is very easily contactable. He always answers his phone and if he can’t he calls back within an hour or so. And most importantly of all we never had to chase him up for any part of the work. He would call us often and keep us updated. This is in stark contrast to my usual experience with building / housework companies we have used whereby I am constantly having to chase people up to finish work.The work was carried out to a high standard and comes with guarantee. I called Abbey to carry out damp survey, however they also completed all of my decorating, painting, wallpapering, carpet fitting once the damp proof course had been finished. We contacted Dave and the Abbey guys after being recommended by friends regarding a number of issues in our new house inclusive of significant damp and rot. They initially came and provided an in depth look at some of the problems identified in our survey that enabled us to renegotiate our house price prior to completion, and subsequently completed the work for us, all for an extremely good price. We then identified a number of other "snags" and problems that the guys took on, inclusive of plastering, plumbing and roof work. Following on from this initial work we made contact with Abbey again in order to have a chimney stack taken down and again we were given a very good price and were extremely happy with the work done.Dave and his staff were all very professional and considerate (especially considering we had a newborn baby in and around the time of most of the work being done). All of the work done has been to a high standard and we have been very pleased with how our house project is progressing. We contacted Abbey Damproofing after noticing a problem on internal walls. The service they gave us was second to none. From coming round to diagnose and quote to the last job they offered a professional and friendly service. Ray epsecially was excellent. He kept in touch through every stage of the job and explained thoroughly what was happening at each stage. He managed the job and the various specialists who were involved in putting things right brilliantly. Alan, Carl and Ben also deserve special mention for their hard work, professionalism and friendliness. As each job was completed the team cleaned up and left the place looking like new. Along the way we asked the lads to do a few more jobs for us than we initially anticipated. Ray kept his patience with us and nothing was too much trouble (including asking them back once the job was "finished" to do another few extras)! We used Dave and his team to do work on our house at the end of last year. They were super helpful nothing was too much trouble and they worked around us living in the house whilst they had a lot of plastering done. We came back every night to a clean and liveable house. We owned a large terraced Liverpool house and wanted to prepare it for sale. Dave Hancock proved to be utterly reliable and trustworthy. He diagnosed various damp and rot problems with the Victorian house and all were corrected. His experience and knowledge were invaluable. In addition he oversaw the replacement of the kitchen, bathroom and shower room. Problems with roofing etc. were also dealt with.
