I offer talking therapy which helps clients to explore their issues in a safe and confidential space.

Our first meeting will help me to make an initial assessment of your situation and will also give you an opportunity to gain a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me in order for us to work together. This session will additionally give you an opportunity to explore what you would like to gain from counselling and give us a chance to establish whether you would like to commit to a short-term or potentially an open-ended basis. This will ultimately be your decision and can naturally change over the course of therapy.

I trained within the psychodynamic framework. This means that during our sessions we will work on identifying how your past experiences and past relationships have affected your current life and the issues you may be experiencing. I have worked with clients on a short-term (anything between 12-24 sessions) and open ended (over a year) basis.

During our work together, we will be establishing a therapeutic relationship which will hopefully enable you to open up to me and allow me to gain an understanding of who you are. If you do decide to go ahead with counselling sessions, we will start exploring in depth the issues and reasons that have brought you into counselling.
