We were lucky enough to have Robin photograph our wedding on Friday 21st December 2018. He went above and beyond from preparation to delivery and we couldn't be more delighted with the results.

Robin balances professionalism with kindliness perfectly, making you feel in safe hands and totally at ease. He listens carefully to what you want and works hard to capture your day in a way that suits you. Robin is highly skilled in his practice; ours was a wet and foggy day but Robin managed the conditions perfectly to ensure our photographs are both striking and technically sound.

After our ceremony, Robin took us into the countryside to capture some gorgeous moments. In all honesty, neither of us is confident in front of the camera, but with Robin we felt completely relaxed. He was efficient and thoughtful and balanced direction with distance effectively. We had a giggle, indulging in what felt like a fun and private part of the day which Robin captured beautifully.

For anyone seeking a professional, we really couldn't recommend Robin enough.

Working with Robin was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. He was very accommodating and understood our look and image perfectly! With the brief and few props given, he created some absolutely outstanding shots, with many creative ideas. He even brought his own props, to ensure our pictures came out perfectly. The quality and standard was perfect. He was extremely professional throughout, ensuring regular contact as and when needed. We couldn't be happier with the final results and can't thank him enough. We would recommend Captis Media to anyone needing a very high quality photographer. Thank you so much! We will definitely be coming to you for all of our future shoots! More...

As a landlord and property developer I am always on the lookout at ways to increase interest to my properties with a quick turn around. As a way to increase the latter I decided to look into property photography to take images of a number of properties (both high and mid range) to advertise to let/full sale.. At first I did debate whether to take my own pictures or use a professional photographer. After a little thought and shopping around I came across Robin and his service's. Suffice to say, I am now a frequent customer of Robin's and the pictures... they really stand out above the rest! Robin is reliable and very efficient at what he does and the end result is always fantastic. More...

Wow! We could not be happier with our pictures. Although Robin is new to Bark he is not new to photography. We required full interior, exterior and food pictures for our new restaurant, Artisan Ribble Valley, and Robin delivered us the wow factor to get us going. To top it off this guy had the patient of a saint, his images speak for themselves and he's top of our list for future work. Highly recommended, More...

Q&As

So many 'secrets' apply to different aspects of photography but to me, it has to be a balance of two main factors. 1. the light and 2. the moment.

The Light: When a subject, or the subject, is perfectly light, whether you're half way up a mountain capturing a breathe-taking landscape, or in a studio capturing a product or capturing precious moments at a wedding - having the right lighting conditions (either natural or artificial) really does separate your images from being good to great.

The Moment - Sometimes things just happen! But from experience, you have to be prepared. My camera never leaves my side and while working it never leaves my hand! Those precious moments, expressions or instances are over in a flash! Observation and attention to detail is key!

(and if I can have a 3rd, slightly following on from point 2 - it has to be the preparation/planning. A cheesy saying but a true one - 'if you fail to plan, plan to fail!)

The list is on going and is unique to every customer. However, if I could ask only ONE, it would be
- What message would you like each image to portray?

Please drop me a message and I will be more than happy to discuss and offer my advise where needed :)

Personally - The diversity, the locations I have the privilege to visit and the people I meet.

Professionally - Having self pride in knowing the customer is happy.

This one's a little long, so if you're somehow interested, get comfy, make a brew and read on... :)

I guess it wasn't so much in what 'inspired me to start my own business' as that was a natural progression. But what inspired me to study at university to become a photographer goes all the way back to when I was a boy (now 30, but I consider myself a young man - just).

Growing up I spent a lot of fun times at my Grandparents house, like most young children. However, this one day at my Grandads house I will remember forever as it is, I guess, what influenced me to become a photographer...

During the 2nd World War my Grandad served in the British Army as a Marine and was involved in the D-Day landings. This one particular day while playing at his house I came across an old tin box which contained dozens of tiny still images taken from an old format camera. These images, I were later to find out, were taken of the remainder of the war. My grandad, after invading the beaches, in France, found the camera which once belonged to a German reporter who must have left it behind in hast!
The images documented his journey from the beaches of France all the way up into Belgium. They ranged from portraiture of people he met, architecture and landscapes passed along the way. I was absolutely fascinated with them and I was forever holding the stills up to the light whenever I visited. This experience, and a few others I won't bore you with, combined with my dad being rewarded with a 20 Year Service SLR Camera, which I never put down at family parties, occasions or holidays, certainly peaked my interest and I knew I wanted to be a photographer!

It wasn't then until I was in my early twenties I had the stills blown up to see them in all their glory, for which I based my final major university project on and it helped me to achieve my BA (Hons) Degree in Digital Media. I guess it all came full circle.

I like to think I am very approachable, thorough, I take a great pride in what I do and I can be relied upon to capture the perfect image(s) for the client.
