Wireless burglar alarms vs wired

A wireless burglar alarm can be the best option if you want a security alarm that causes minimal disruption when installed.

Wireless alarms used to be viewed as less reliable than their hardwired counterparts, but these days they’re both stable and secure. Wireless burglar alarms are also quicker to install than a traditional system. A wireless system can also be moved and extended easily.

However, there are some downsides to wireless burglar alarms. The batteries that all the component parts run on will need to be replaced every couple of years, But it’s worth noting that this is increasingly rare and they’re much more reliable than they used to be.

A wired system is often cheaper to buy than a wireless system, but it costs a lot more to install and is more disruptive. It will typically take a day or two to install a wired system, as cabling has to be routed around your house. In contrast, a wireless system can be up and running within a few hours.

We have engineers competent and qualified in all aspects of Fire Alarm Systems from Design to Installation and Commissioning to Servicing in accordance with BS5839-1. The lowering costs of technology and the effectiveness of CCTV means it is increasingly incorporated as part of a home or business security solution, often integrated with intruder alarms and access control systems.

Our CCTV systems can record images constantly to hard-drives allowing instant and easy access to the stored images and/or stream to mobile, tablet or PC devices to be accessed anywhere. Additionally our alarm receiving centre can provide round the clock off-site remote monitoring of images should your business require it.

CCTV is often used and recommended by local authorities and police forces as a major means of crime prevention and detection. It is amongst the most cost effective means of providing deterrents to prevent intruders, stop vandalism and monitor health and safety issues.

In recent years the quality of recordings has increased dramatically. This is mainly due to the use of digital technology within the CCTV industry, providing better pictures at a dramatically reduced cost which has made the systems so affordable that they are fitted not just to high risk businesses but to homes as well.

A small domestic system will allow you to view around your house from your television as well as to review recordings of previous day's activity from your computer. You can if you wish even access the system from any internet point in the world or from your smart phone!

Cameras no longer need to look like traditional cameras and can be discretely located where you need them most and with the minimum impact to the aesthetics of your building.

The best format to record a picture in is colour because this is the medium we see in. The problem with colour cameras is that as the light level falls the picture soon begins to break up and become meaningless.

At low light levels monochrome cameras are far more sensitive. The solution is a camera that is colour during daylight hours that becomes monochrome at night.

Moreover as monochrome cameras can be sensitive to infrared light that is beyond the human light spectrum we can also then equip the camera with an infrared light source so in effect they can see in total darkness.

Access control enables you to control who has access to your building and at what time. Moreover, we have solutions that help avoid problems with mislaid or stolen keys meaning staff can easily get into work without having to wait for the key holder.

Based on our site and industry audit, we install your access systems as standalone or integrated network systems. Depending on the level of security you need, we can design and supply systems for controlling entry and exit through PIN code, key fobs, swipe cards, or a combination of options.
