We've been using Read With Us for my 8 year old son who was reading below his age group for about a year and half now. The 2 sessions a week has helped my son become a fluent and confident reader and has given him the comprehension skills required to understand what he is reading. At the time of my child starting with Read With Us, she was preparing to sit the 11+. We pretty much, saw a shift in her enthusiasm towards her studies and definitely an improvement in her English marks.

I couldn’t not review this wonderful tool used for reading. The sessions with read with us helped my daughter, who is a reader avoider actually pick up a book, and want to read! I’d be on her case all the time about just reading even for 5 minutes, and it just would never happen, I’d be wasting my breath! Joining Read with Us has really helped her, she has three 15 minute sessions a week, with an amazing tutor who doesn’t just sit there listening to her read, she asks her questions about the book so she knows that she’s understanding what the books is about (my daughter skim reads!) and asks her what words mean, to help her gain a better understanding of what context the words can be used in, what are the are verbs, adjectives, compounds, adverbs, nouns…..the list goes on! The tutors are amazing, they have an understanding of how children work and how to get the best results. I would recommend Read With Us, and if I could give more stars….I would! She has gotten so much out of just attending 3 times a week. The other days she reads her other book, with out me asking! To think that I only started from a trial through recommendation! More...
