Stopped here whilst in the area. Had a pork roll to die for!! Definitely worth the money with the amount of pork put in each of the rolls! Friendly staff too. Definitely come again if we are in the area again. More...

Top quality meat, very friendly staff. The hot food cooked daily is really nice and very good value for money, we have takeaway roasts from here regularly, can't fault the place.

We chose Pyne's of Somerset to provide a hog roast for our wedding reception in September 2018 and couldn’t be happier with our choice. They set up (and cleared up) everything themselves, were unfailingly polite to our guests, and – most importantly – the quality of the food was superb. The tastiest hog roast in Somerset! More...

Always an amazingly pleasurable, personal and indulgent experience. The staff are are lovely, Malcome is a true gent. Appetite activating range of lovely fresh, prepared and locally sourced products. Simply can't beat them. And that's before we start on the hot food counter with delicious pork, beef and breakfast rolls as well as roasts to go. Can't beat Pynes, privileged to call him my local butcher. More...

More than just a butcher! As well as being the best place to buy any meat products they also do exceptional sea food, fancy farm shop products and alcohol. But best of all is their take away food. The best breakfast rolls I've ever had, hog roast, and roast dinners served from 11:30 daily. They also serve delicious Miles coffee. More...

My favourite butcher shop!! Such a wide range of high quality meats and a fantastic customer service. Always feel inspired when I visit and always leave satisfied. Pynes are so much more than just a butcher. If there was ever a model butcher then Pynes is the one!! More...

Not mentioned on their website or usually on display, but if you ask them, Pyne's also stock wild venison, and they can also get in wild squirrel and rabbit. I believe they can also source wild boar. It's great for me because mainly, the only meats I'll eat are from "pest" animals that need to be culled, which includes species of deer, wild boar, squirrels and rabbits.I'd give them 5 stars but they lose a star for keeping it a secret! Honestly, they're missing a trick not advertising their wild culled meats as ethical food. More...

Just fantastic, we use this farm shop a lot, first thing I will say is the staff are just awesome, they come up to you and ask how you are and start conversations, they can't do enough to help, and when I say suggest cuts of meat for you, they really suggest and offer cooking advice. . superb service. The food quality is great too, and all at reasonable prices. We especially love the hot roast meat takeaway. Today it was a whole pig roasting away and we really enjoyed the carvings we had off his back.Parking is right outside and there are 3 disabled spaces, it really is worth a visit.Don't forget to say Hi to the live lobsters too :) More...

Just had a chance to trial this traditional butcher that was showcased in the BBC One Show some weeks back for his dry cured bacon. Absolutely delicious, no water thrown off, barely any shrinkage and a sublime taste. Cut thick so you can actually taste it. As so little wastage, one slice is enough to replace several of those pathetic shrivelled tasteless scraps offered as 'traditional dry cured'. Taste of nothing in my view. So this bacon is a divine taste, well worth turning off the M5 at J24 to find. A minor quibble, rind and some fat had already been trimmed off, prefer that option myself. To rind or not. The smoked bacon was equally tasty, it is all down, I suspect, to the hanging time for the sides. While your there, try his sausages, if mine were anything to go by you wont be disappointed with these either, no water, no enzymes thrown off, just a little essential fat, little shrinkage and a solid meaty taste. Enough to fully restore your faith in sausages. As for the beef, it blew me away. Obviously well hung, looked dry and a deep red showing every signs of it being a fantastic eat. Dying to get back to try the beef and then on to the other meats. None of which were sitting in a pool of blood and water, a sure sign some one who really cares about what he serves.About to move to new premises, around 11th Nov 2011, straight off J24, even easier for you to get to. Miss this butcher and you miss finding out what meat eating is all about. Taste and tender. More...
